Encouragement
Trust
I took my grandson Nathan to a fun fair on Saturday; his dad had just left to return to Iraq so I felt he needed something to take his mind of the loss.
Needless to say I was elected to go on the rides with him, one of them was a real fast whirling thing probably created to destroy every vestige of pride and the thought of how my hair was. . It worked well if that was its intentions...
As I was trying to hold on to my dinner I saw two things, one, little Nathan (he has just turned 7) was snuggled tight to my side and was not going to move, he felt secure and I thought; thats what we should be like with our heavenly father, tightly snuggled into his comforting arms, secure in his strength, safe in his love of us.
The other thing I saw was that I wasn’t in charge of what was happening, it was scary, it was faster than I wanted to go and just when I thought it could not get worse the thing went backwards and all I could do was to hang on knowing that it would all be over soon.
Don't you see the parallel, the reason we get fear filled is that we are used to being in charge, we are used to running our own lives but when things take a turn for the worse all we can do is to hang on hoping that the driver knows were he is taking us.
The only thing we can do when life puts us in a spin is to trust God and to accept that he still holds us in the palm of his hands; all we can do when things seem out of control is to snuggle in and hold on tight.
That’s what God wants anyway an unwavering trust (faith in action) his children to be so close to him that he can protect them, he will hold onto us when we hold onto him.
Don't dare give in, don't you know that the dawn always arrives regardless of how black the night is.
You are on the brink of a miracle; you are on the winning side for God is for you,
You will make it, your life will be changed for sure, your priorities will be different, like Jacob you may have a permanent reminder of your encounter but if you walk tall in God you will become an Israel.
You will make it because you have trusted God more than the arm of flesh; you too will see with your eyes the glory of Gods true riches as he reveals himself to you day by day.
