Marriage
I remember going to school when I was little, on St. Patrick's Day, and clutching my contribution to share on this day, that we celebrated in a big way.
I knew I held in my hands the best, when all would be said and done, for I had brought green bread to share, and I was sure it'd be the only one.
I wasn't disappointed, the reaction was swift, the ooh and the ahhhs did me proud but some wouldn't eat it, for it looked so strange, and they complained long and loud.
My teacher came to my rescue that day, silencing those complaints with a look,
and told the class that the bread was still bread, but what happened inside it changed how it looked.
The memory of that day so long ago, reminded me of when I met Jesus the first time, and wondering why He would care so much that He wanted to say "she is Mine.'
The transformation came from inside, just like the color in that bread long ago
and when it was done, the change was complete, I was still me, but with Jesus' glow.
Jesus looked into my heart, saw the joys and pains tucked in there, along with one wish no one else knew, and I imagine Him smiling at the plans that He had to make that wish come true.
Time passed along, and I learned how to follow Him, for He would show me just what to do and then one fine spring day, Jesus transformed my life again, the day that I first met you.
Each morning I thank Him for the life I now have, for I am surrounded with such loving care and I rejoice in the blessings and all the new things this day will hold, that you and I will share.
I am so thankful that Jesus changed my heart, making my heart over brand new
so that I would be able to have this greatest joy, each day I have in loving you!

Very cute! The green bread reminds me of Dr Suess' Green Eggs and Ham - still a favorite of mine!
