“Charley, we need to get a bigger house. I’m sick and tired of having to share the den with your computer stuff and the boys need a spare room to make into a game room; they are getting crowded out of their rooms by all their games and toys they have.
“Well sweetheart, we just can’t afford a bigger place right now. Perhaps after the first of the year when I get the raise from $80,000 to $$95.000, we might be able to move up.”
“Look Charley, If you would stop giving so much money to the church and helping all those deadbeats, we would be able to afford a much bigger house.”
“Now Honey, I only gave $300.00 to the church this year. You know we are obligated to help out a little with the expenses there, and I did give $5.00 to that lady who had to feed her starving children. You don’t begrudge that, do you?”
***************
Away in a manger,
No crib for His bed
The little Lord Jesus
Laid down His sweet head
***************
“Momma, it’s so cold. I’m freezing out here.”
“I know, Sally, snuggle up to me and I will wrap you in my coat with me. Here pull this cardboard box over you. It will help block the freezing wind.”
“Momma, why do we have to sleep in the doorway of this business?”
“Oh Sally, I am so sorry. Your Dad deserted us and we lost the house to the mortgage company. We didn’t have anyone to take us in. Not even our church would help us find a place to live. Don’t worry, Sally, Oh…oh, look at that beautiful bright star. My sweet baby girl, God is watching over us.”
***************
The stars in the bright sky
Looked down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay
***************
“Robert, turn down that big screen TV, you will wake the baby. If he wakes up crying, I’m going to knock you up side the head. Do you hear me, ROBERT?”
“Yea…yea…yea, you are always belly-aching about something. The baby…the baby…the baby, I am sick of hearing about that spoiled brat. I’m going down to my friend’s house to watch TV. He has a 52” set, anyway.”
***************
The cattle are lowing
The poor Baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes
***************
“Brenda, you love me don’t you”
“Why, yes, Bobby, you know I love you.”
“Well, if you love me you will show me. I have physical needs and we have been dating for two weeks now. I love you and I want to have sex with you.”
“Bobby, it’s too soon, I’m only fourteen, and someone may find out.”
“Oh, don’t think negative. I will be with you always. I love you. Nobody but you and I will ever know. You don’t want me to have to go to someone else for my needs, do you?”
***************
I love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my side,
'Til morning is nigh.
***************
“Please don’t leave me. I can’t make it without you. We have been married for twenty-three years. The kids and I need you. You promised to love me and stay with me forever.”
“Well, I guess promises are made to be broken. I just don’t love you any more and I want to be free, I deserve it after being tied down for all these years. Deal with it!”
***************
Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
***************
“Daddy, what will heaven be like? Will there be other children in heaven?”
“Yes, Pumpkin, heaven will be filled with lots of children. Don’t be afraid, God will take very special care of His children.”
“I’m not afraid, Daddy. I see Jesus standing beside you with His arms reaching out to me. Can I go now, Daddy?”
“ Yes, my precious Pumpkin, I give you back to the One you created you, who will not leave you or forsake you.”
“I love you Daddy, bye for now, I will be waiting for you. Merry Christmas Daddy, bye……
***************
Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven
To live with Thee there
