"Jesus Wept".... a Psalm
Standing in Your presence, I perceive this misbegotten world,
.through Your tear dimmed eyes, I fill with sorrow,
..and weep for your pain filled heart.
From the greatness of Your glorious throne on high,
.you lowered Yourself to this world of Your creation,
..to be rejected by the makings of Your own hand.
Defiled and crucified, You wept for the world,
.mocked and beaten, thorns you wore for a crown,
..from glory to shame, for this You came down.
Holy Lord, how You must have wept, hanging upon the tree,
.the world below, from sorrow, over shadowed,
..the earth did tremble in pain at your passing.
Standing now in Thy sight, I weep to think of Your sacrifice,
.men laughed and angels called out Thy Father's pain,
..as Your body was laid in a cold dark tomb.
Oh, how Thy enemy laughed in their day,
.for triumph was in their darkened hearts,
..greed blinding their inner eye.
Your prideful enemy brought forth his lies, to deceive,
.and the humble trembled in the dark, hiding in fear,
..in silence, their hearts flooded with tears.
Yet the depth of Thy love could not be restrained,
.and glory was to be Yours, by victory of the grave,
..for in power You arose the third day.
Glorious in might, yet humble, Your greatest act of love,
.Your shell did perish, yet raised up again, untarnished,
..but for the scars of Your undying love.
"To Me," You cried, in a thunderous whisper to the heart,
."To Me, you weak and weary, bound in the chains of strife,
..To Me, you lost of the world, I will give thee life."
Yet now, even now, as I stand in Your glorious presence,
.tears streaming from my heart, at the sorrow You felt,
..at man's rejection through pride.
For pride of themselves, they seek the world's ways,
.lust, greed, and glory, the gods of their chosen path,
..their blazing road to the judgment at Your throne.
Seeking their reward in the present, tarnished gold and gems,
.flaunting the treasure they hold with great pride,
..even claiming it as blessings gained.
As children we sought Your most tender embrace,
.with our loving arms stretched wide with joy,
..as seeking the Father's great love.
Yet their hearts were as seed cast upon the wayside,
.where enemies unseen swoop down on the innocent,
..or on stony ground, wither to away.
"Dine on my blessing of life," You yet call, O gracious Lord,
.and seek you they do, in great multitudes,
..with hearts and hands open wide to receive.
"Give and give," they cry aloud, "give Your spirit and power,
.grant me Your knowledge, the strength of Your word,
..give my hearts greatest desires."
Here You are now, on your glorious throne of grace,
.dividing Your children, like the chafe from the wheat,
..the prideful, from the humble of heart.
The prideful shall stand boldly before You, and proclaim,
."This work, You have before me, and this my hand has done,"
..yet the humble shall weep at Your feet in awe.
Brightly they walked through their lives without a care,
.highly favored and blessed of God, "Do as I, and walk upright,"
..yet the humble struggle meekly along.
How haughty they stand before You now, even as in life,
.proclaiming to You the work done,
..to You, who know their heart,
...and the coldness they hide within.
Oh the tears You shed for their boldness of heart,
.You weep for the haughty, for their judgment is nigh
..the pit opens, to receive, at their very words.
The meek kneel humble before you, silently weeping,
.a repentant heart, softly pleading, forgiveness of their King,
..a mighty, and yet merciful Lord.
They start the day in prayer, and praise, singing Your holy name,
.their work is to care for others, weak and weary of heart,
..to ask a meager blessing, in their trials of life.
Again You weep, yet a smile in Your eyes, and arms open wide,
."Come now my children," You call with great joy,
.."rest now in thy Father's embrace."
The tears You have shed, over the years, throughout time,
.awaiting the love of Your youth, a holy perfected bride.
You wept at their trials and bondage, all their pain and strife,
.overjoyed at their simplest of praise and worship,
..their greatest of blessings, was Your dearest thought.
You clothe them in Your righteousness, feed them of Your love,
.heal their pain filled hearts, and wipe away all their tears.
And as Your children are gathered, humbly singing praise,
.all the angels of heaven shout out, loudly, "Hallelujah,"
.."Hallelujah, to the King of Kings"
