And Counting
TIME Webster Definition: 1a: the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues.
Have you ever said, “I’ll do it tomorrow?” Of course you have. We all have. The real question is, why? Ever heard the saying, “Tomorrow is written on a fools calendar?” If you were given till tomorrow to live, how would you spend it? It’s a good question because it forces you to evaluate the who and what is important in your life. Stop and give it a shot. I dare you! 2 Cor. 13:5 “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you realize that Christ Jesus is in you-unless, of course, you fail the test?” Plato said, “An unexamined life isn’t worth living.” We love watching the reality shows: Survivor, Joe Millionaire, Fear Factor…but when faced with our own reality, it’s less entertaining. Take the LEC test!
Life Expectancy Chart.
The national average for a man’s lifespan is 76. A woman 79. Below is for a man. Let’s see where you fit:
· If you are 19 you have 56 years remaining or 672 months remain.
· If you are 21 you have 54 years remaining or 648 months remain.
· If you are 25 you have 50 years remaining or 600 months remain.
· If you are 30 you have 45 years remaining or 540 months remain.
· If you are 35 you have 40 years remaining or 480 months remain
· If you are 40 you have 35 years remaining or 420 months remain.
You can do the math if your younger or older (-/+ 12 months)
I want you to grab your organizer, and put the number of months remaining in the top corner. Each month I want you to subtract one month from your total. (Example: Your 21 and have 648. Now you have 647.) So what’s the point? The point is, you don’t have as much time as you think! “Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Eph 5:15
Notice in the above verse…. “Do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is”
Some reading this have been wounded by foolish words, actions, or non-action by others. Some have lost days, months, even years over an offense. The truth is, it’s time to get back into the race and get off the sideline. Did you see how many months you have remaining? Not many. Can you afford to waist anymore time on the disabled list? The Body of Christ is in desperate need of you! Pay close attention ….
After Jesus died and rose again, he appears to Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus. Saul was wounding, hurting and killing Christians just like you? Jesus appears and says this, “Saul, Saul why do you persecute me? Who are you, Lord? Saul asked. I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. Now get up and go into the city….” Acts 9:5 Did you here that? Jesus felt what other wounded Christians felt! He felt it some much that He left the right hand of God to come down and tell Saul that! Notice what He says to Saul, after throwing him to the ground and blinding him. “NOW GET UP AND GO INTO THE CITY…” Friend, it’s time to get up and go toward your calling and destiny. You are needed! Don’t waist another day on the sidelines. Your days are numbered!
