God Will Win
By: Kimberly Bush Crews
“It’s hard to kick against the pricks.”
So often when God allows troubles to come into our lives, we decide how we will handle it; what’s best for us. But, we don’t know what’s best for us; only God does. If He feels that the troubles we share and the burdens we bear is what’s best for us, then we must share them, bear them and go through obediently and with much appreciation and praise.
It’s when we decide that we will handle it, we are creating even more problems for ourselves because God doesn’t take kindly to His children coming up against Him. How do you feel when your child raises up against you, or tells you what he will and will not do? God feelings about it are even stronger, and His power is greater. He chastises us greatly for our disobedience and disrespect.
We get mad at God, and decide that we will become good friends with Satan, serving him with our whole hearts, minds, bodies, and souls; never even thinking that Satan is nobody’s friend. He only desires to use us. God said that one of His names is “Jealous”, and He will not accept you turning against Him to serve Satan because He has decided to make you work a little bit for your crown of life.
Nothing in life is free, and we must work daily to receive all that God has for us. Sometimes the way will get hard, but we must press on believing that whatever we are facing or going through is what’s best for us. When we decide to turn to sin for gratification, revenge or to make us feel better, we are opening the doors to unnecessary and avoidable troubles. If it seems that things are getting worse all of the time, you may be fighting against what God’s trying to do in your life.
When you fight against God, you will lose because God has ALL power and FULL control. Stop trying to make people suffer for what you’re going through, and stop trying to make yourself feel better; you can’t. God is the only comforter and avenger. If you want to hurt and suffer more than what one situation brings, try to take it upon yourself and fix it yourself. You will be in for an abundance of trouble and strife in your life; AND, you may very well cause others around you to suffer because God will use others in your family to get your attention.
Has God ever tried to get your attention, and you wouldn’t listen; and, He touched the life of someone close to you, like your children? I know for myself that I would rather suffer than to see my children suffer. You cannot fight against God because God is God; and, He has all power. He controls your life and everyone else’s. He will chastise you until you give in and decide that you will do as He has called and chosen you to.
You may try to fight the battle all on your own
Doing what you think makes you strong,
Trying to bear the burdens that God requires you to bear
Because you feel that life is being completely unfair.
You decide to do evil for evil because it makes you feel good,
And you stray away from praying and living as you should
Trying to show God that you won’t take it sitting down
Never thinking you’re creating a sea of trouble that within, you will drown.
The more you fight against the things God requires you to go through,
Things will only get worse and worse for you.
Instead of it just being a battle in your life,
It’s spilling over into your family causing much heartache and strife.
Your efforts to “show God” is not only destroying you,
But the ones you love are beginning to suffer for the wrong you do.
Don’t you know that you can’t fight against God’s plan?
This is a fact that you must accept and understand.
God controls all things; and, He never gives in
Because in every situation, He shall win.
Therefore, if there are tears that you must shed right now,
You might as well shed them without questioning how, what, when, where or how.
If there are burdens that He has decided that you must bear,
You might as well bear them regardless of how unfair
The troubles and trials may seem to you
Because this is something that you must go through.
If there is a load you must carry along life’s way,
You might as well carry it without going astray
Because your disobedience will only increase the pain and sorrow
And make the journey longer trying to reach a brighter tomorrow.
As God to Saul, “It’s hard to kick against the pricks” in life,
And kicking against God’s will only cause you grief, heartaches and strife;
So, don’t try to fight against God by indulging in sin
Because at the end of the battle, God will surely win.
