“No Longer Children of Wrath Now We Are Sons Of The Most High God”
By
Calvin J. Moss
Galatians 4:1-7 mentions: Now I say that the heir as long as he is a child differenth nothing from a servant though he be lord of all. But is under tutors and Governors until the time appointed by the father. Even so we when we were children were in bondage under the elements of the world but when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his son made of a woman made under the law; to redeem them that were under the law that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God had sent forth the spirit of his son into your hearts crying Abba father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant but a son and if a son then an heir of God through Christ. No Longer are we Children of wrath now, we are sons of the most, high God.
In the world, we were bastards, blind and bound. We were dead men walking and children of the devil. We knew not God and were practitioners of iniquity. Although a majority of us heard of Jesus we were ignorant of his word. In Ephesians 2 the Apostle Paul addresses the Church of Ephesus about their natural state. Paul was reminding them of their former selves, the old man. Look at what he writes: And you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins; where in the times past ye walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children o disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lust of our flesh fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature children of wrath even as others.
Now sons or children of God let us walk as children of God. Let us put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Our priority should be to show the world Jesus; a process indeed. As God`s kin we are no longer carriers of the curse but receivers of his blessings. Darkness dwelleth in our temples no longer but light; and if light dwelleth within us then we know that we are the offspring of God through Jesus Christ. According to first Peter 2:9 we are a chosen generation of royal priesthood. Once we were people but now peculiar people. Galatians 3:26-27 says: for ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Since we are Christ`s we are now heirs of the promise (v.29). Amen.
