There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. There is a time for everything. Which season are we in today? Which activity is it time for?
The church can no longer deny its rightful duty. Too many years have passed in this great country where Christians have not taken a stand to fight the forces of evil that are storming across our land. There have been too many excuses and too many spectators to the war. The spirit of correcting, teaching and rebuking in love has turned into a spirit of cowardice. Our pulpits are filled with fancy-pants speakers and women (which one is worse, I can’t decide). Our Christian radio is filled with sentimental songs that would give any hardened theologian a cavity. Our Christian television stations may have some redeeming qualities, but who has time to wade through the sea of blasphemies to get to the isle of truth? Our universities and Bible colleges are filled with morally bankrupt and doctrinally retarded “pastors”. How long shall the church go on accepting into its midst those things that God has condemned? How long will we watch our culture degrade into a self serving, child devouring monster?
The season of courage and boldness has come once again to our fair country. Like our forefathers that fought and died in order to secure the lives and freedom of others, the time has come for us to take up our weapons of war and to march into battle. This war is not a new war. In fact, this war has been going on for millennia. This war is the ultimate battle between good and evil, light and dark.
The dark side: it sounds like something out of a Star Wars film, but George Lucas in his attempt to tell a story and to make a profit, came close to portraying the two sides of the war of the ages. The dark side is basically the embodiment of evil. The disciples of the dark side gain power and strength quickly. The evil within them gives them power and allows them to advance their skills quickly. They are feared - and rightfully so - since they are quick to anger and love destruction. They will do whatever it takes to accomplish what they set out to do, no matter what it costs or who it destroys.
The opposite of dark is light. The light is the embodiment of good. The disciples of light gain power through discipline and training. The good within them gives them power over the dark claws of evil. The disciples of light are respected and are looked upon with gratitude. They accomplish their goals through peace and only use force when necessary.
The Bible tells us that the war between good and evil has many fronts. Evil is all around us trying desperately to invade our country, our homes, our families, and our minds. Unfortunately, there are very few champions of light to fight this evil foe. Why is that? Why are there so many people that claim to be Christians and yet darkness is destroying our land? Who will stand against the darkness? Christ called his followers to be salt in this world and also to be a light on a hill. Yet when you look around that light is no where to be found. Paul wrote to us compelling us to take up our spiritual armor but many Christians are running around naked (Ephesians 6:13). The call to arms has been sounded. Are you ready to join the fight? Are you willing to take up your sword and follow in suffering, tribulation and even death for the love of our great King? Does he mean enough to you, that you would sacrifice your comfort, your money, and your life for Him? Before answering that question in your mind trying asking these questions: Did I pray to Him today? Did I read His Bible this week? Do I enjoy worshipping Him? Does anyone know that I love Him? Do I love all those who are sitting here with me?
The war really begins with us as individuals. If the tide of the war is to be changed in America then we need godly warriors who have been equipped with every good spiritual weapon. We need pastors that have studied the word of God and aren’t afraid to preach the whole counsel of God. We need the laity to be diligent students of the Bible. They need to embrace God-centered worship instead of man-centered. We don’t need a revival, we need a reformation. We need a reformation of the heart. We need to take a stand!
