Upholding our Christian testimony
Jesus is not afraid, Jesus is not rebelling during His arrest and goes to a farther extent of showing His love for those who came to arrest Him….see how….
“Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”” John 18:10-11 (NKJV)
When Peter who was a disciple of Christ saw that soldiers had come to arrest the Lord, he tried to do the best that he knew, counter attack a soldier (named Malcus) with his sword and cut off his ear, Jesus rebuked Peter and in the Gospel of Luke (Luke 22:50-51) it says, Jesus even healed Malcus.
The arrest and death of Christ was not an accident, rather Christ was dying on our behalf and for our sins, in this entire happening God is in complete control, His blessed plan for our forgiveness was being fulfilled.
Often in our lives, we face difficult times and difficult people, we tend to lose hope, temper and patience and in the self-defense of our body and prestige we often permit our Christian character to be set aside and use words and actions surpassing the resemblance of worldliness, thus dishonoring God.
We need to know, remember and understand that there is no situation or circumstance beyond the control of our Lord God, we need not panic and lose our Christian testimony, rather what the Lord asks us to do is…
“Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:5-7 NKJV
At all seasons and for all reasons, we have the blessed privilege of prayer and we know that our heavenly Father is able to deliver us and fill with His blessed peace.
Let’s be like our Lord, let’s spread His love at all times. Let the world see our God is in complete control and we trust Him fully.
God Bless,
Abraham
