Leadership
Three years ago. I can't believe it's been that long. That terrible day. Nobody was ready for it. We weren't prepared. It was just a gorgeous Tuesday - seemingly perfect. And then it happened. The planes. The tears. The screams. The lives lost. Those towers symbolized our nation. Before and after that day. Before they stood tall, strong, and powerful - just like America. We were a tall, proud nation with a strong economy, military, and government. We were the most powerful nation on the planet, and one of the youngest. Just to say "America" or "United States" inspired hope and freedom, brought thoughts of strength and equality. Then that day happened. We were brought down to our knees. We had been penetrated. All of our strength couldn't stop it. Even one of the hubs of our power - The Pentagon - was hit. A whole side became inoperational for a year. The towers, how they crumbled: just like Americans when we fell to our knees either crying or praying or both.
Then hope - a voice. "We will prevail." This man had strengh - something we needed; he had confidence. But where, where did he get it? And there it was: a National Day of Prayer. Prayer, prayer! God: that was where this man got his strength, his confidence. With God, we found, we had hope. We could stand again, and be powerful and strong. So we stood - shakily, but we stood. We were given strength, strength to fight and confidence to win. And we recieved our power again. We supported this man who showed us America again. We looked to him for wisdom. He rose to the occasion. He led us into battle and we gained the offense.
That day three years ago we were brought to our knees, but we had a leader: a God-ordained leader. This leader instilled in us the hope and assurance we needed to stand again. So stand we did, and stand we still do. We have reverted, though. Our leader's support has started to diminish. We have forgotten about God and the strength that He gave us. Forgotten and left. Let us remember. Remember how we fell and remember how we were brought up again.
