Encouragement
There are times in life when we go through so much in our surroundings and environment that it becomes essential to protect our inner defences and not allow ourselves to be pulled into deep waters.
I came across an outstanding line; "Are you standing Tall on the Inside.?" The header says it all.
Whether we are facing any rigorous storm or mountain crushing problem, ailments that close in on us, turmoils in society, or differences that press us down; it is important to remember that we ought to be standing firm with our head held high inside of us that is in our thoughts, reactions and self esteem. If we are then, no boat can topple us over sending us down into the currents that can submerge us.
Love too plays a lead role in helping us stand tall when the world is set to bring us down.
If we are surrounded by Love no trials can encamp around us. The Lord Himself will come to our rescue because where there is Love, God can never be absent from it.
When we read the heroic deeds of great men and women in the Bible we can well imagine how they stood tall on the inside only because they had placed their complete faith and trust in the Lord.
David killed the Giant Goliath with a sling and stone because the Lord was guiding his faith to win over in a doomed situation.
Queen Esther rescued her people; the Jews through her complete confidence in God who directed her every move and step on how to approach King Xerxes; her husband and turn over the declaration of death that he had signed against the Jews at the behest of Haman; his Prime Minister. She thus used her position well in favor of her countrymen, all with the insight provided from above.
Judith a very pious widow saved the people living in Jerusalem from Holofernes who was the General in Command of the armies of King Nebuchadnezzar. She boldly entered Holofernes'camp at the risk of her life and honour, tricking him to believe that she had run away from the Israelite camp and switched over to his side and would advise him as to the right time to attack the Jews. Holofernes gets captivated by her beauty and Judith seeing her opportunity when he gives a banquet and she is alone with him in his tent where he is lying down in a drunken stupor. She beheads him and takes his head wrapped in his mosquito net to her fellow people leaving his body behind for his army to discover thus scaring the living daylights out of them and forcing them to flee from their camps leaving all their loot behind which the Jews come and claim for their own.
Judith's love for God, her purity and wisdom helped her to defeat the enemy in an otherwise tough situation and to restore the glory of Jerusalem.
In life, we too will proceed and go towards where we can find Love. A love that can encircle us like a strong fortress, in a do and dare situation with the help that we get from within ourselves to be firmly rooted and never moved, always standing like an anchor of faith.
Even if the feet of our heart propels us towards the same destination time and again, we are ever willing to visit this place now familiar to our soul because we know that it is only here that we can get what our hearts are seeking for.
We are all too willing to wear out our footsteps at the door which our heart yearns to walk into with our visits time after time.
It is said that Good things take time to come but Great things happen instantly. When we are least prepared a whole load of surprises, miracles and wonderful moments tumble down straight from above to leave us spell bound and enchanted.
As we sing in the hymn; "Great things happen when God mixes with us. Great and wonderful, beautiful things."
If God who parted the Red Sea for the Israelites to cross over on dry land for the faith of one man- Moses who put his complete faith and trust in a God who spoke to him from heaven, imagine how much more faith and trust should we have because we belong to a generation after Jesus who was God himself, who came down on earth and was crucified, died and rose again. Our faith should be by a million more leaps and bounds fully trusting that a God who could perform the greatest of deeds impossible for any man to compete in the days before Christ was born, how much more can he accomplish for us today after we have been marked with the saving blood of Christ.
If we are standing tall in our faith and standing with God himself, there will be no mountain or storm too big for God to conquer on our behalf.
