Lift Up Your Eyes (Psalm 121:1& 2)
I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (NKJV)
Hallelujah! This is a day to step into our breakthrough, and to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Things begin to happen when we take our eyes off the world, off our challenges and ourselves, and we begin to focus on the Almighty One. He is the One who created the heavens and the earth, who flung the stars into space, and called us each by name! Our Abba God says to us today “Turn your eyes on Me, My precious one. Lift them up and see, My daughter, My son. When you shift your focus and look to Me, there is power and glory and victory. You could keep on trying in your own strength, and battling hard, or you could choose to trust in Me and see your miracle start. I want to see you break through, I want to see you healed. I long to see you conquer and place the enemy under your feet. I need no invitation to raise you up and set you free, but first you need to acknowledge that your help comes from Me.”
In this high tech solutions oriented world, we have become accustomed to having quick and familiar answers to our problems, and we tend to know where to turn to for information and help, when faced with a difficulty. These may all be avenues which are good, trusted and tried, but let us remember that everything or everyone we might turn to came from the mighty Source, the River that never runs dry. He is El Shaddai, the all sufficient One, our exceedingly abundant God, hallelujah! He is Elohim, Creator God, the Maker of the heavens and the earth; the One who called forth light and broke away the darkness. He declared all life and it was done. He created man and filled him with His own breath of Life and raised him up to rule and reign. He is Almighty, marvelous, magnificent Abba and there is nothing impossible with Him! When you are up against some challenge, remember that the Creator of the universe is your God, and that He is on your side.
Dear friend, God is huge and mighty and lives in the heavenly realms of the Supernatural. He is so much higher than anything we could imagine on this earth, and that is why the psalmist encourages us to lift “up” our eyes to the hills. As we take our gaze away from the mundane things of this world and lift them up to Him, there is inspiration, guidance, divine downloads and heavenly solutions coming your way. He is waiting for you to look to Him and acknowledge His omnipotent power, to accept that you cannot win on your own, and that the solutions of the world are finite and limited. He is the God of miracles, and all things become possible to those who believe (Mark 9:23). What you can “see” in your heart is what you will experience in reality, and we see this happening in many parts of the Word of God. For example, in Jeremiah 1:11, God said to the prophet “What do you see?” as He called him into a vision of what was to come. If we can see the vision God places before us, we are seeing His promise, His plan for our lives and we begin to step into its fulfillment. From the mountain of the Lord comes every provision we could ever seek in life (Genesis 22:14), so lift up your head and lift up your eyes to your amazing Father! You are forgiven and so deeply loved. You are free from guilt and shame. Your help has come!
Fix your gaze on Jesus, and call upon His name. Pursue His presence and see that He is found by those who seek Him with their whole heart. (Jeremiah 29:13). He wants to draw you close. He has a miraculous breakthrough for you which is going to spring forth suddenly. I see darkness melting away, and the light shining through!
There is an old Gospel song I remember from many years ago: “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face; and the things of the earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace”.
