Psalm: 55:22 – “Cast your burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain you: he shall never permit the righteous to be moved”.
Keeping something inside of us that hurts and drives us mad every day is not a good thing. That will make us bitter, heartless when we communicate with someone (in other words being hard heartened), isolated and angry. Those are negative emotions and those do not play a great role in our spiritual well-being as well as our physical well-being.
A teacher had a glass of water in his hand and the students thought he would ask if it was half empty or half full. But he instead he asked, “How much do you think this glass of water will weigh”. All were surprised to hear the question and began answering “100mg, 300mg and so on”.
The teacher then replied “It is all about how long you hold the glass. If we hold the glass for a minute we will not feel the pain. If we hold it for half an hour, our hands will pain a bit. If we hold it for an hour, our hands will become numb”. This being interpreted as, when we hold on to a hurt which could have been harsh words or someone who looked down on us or some kind of negative act of someone who has bruised us badly. When we hold to that hurt less than a minute, we survive from the pain and numbness that it causes. If we hold it for some time and let it go, we still survive but will take time to heal. But if we hold on to it forever, it will make us a person with the negative emotions that I have mentioned above.
Here we have solution to all that, in Psalm: 55:22 – “Cast your burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain you: he shall never permit the righteous to be moved”. God is there for us and all that we need to do is to go to His presence to throw all the frustrations, anger and pain at His feet because He’s ready to listen to you and sustain you. He doesn’t need any prior appointment to see Him. He’s with us and around us. He’s waiting for us to cast it all on Him and just be glad in His presence. Also, we can be assured that He’s watching over us and taking care of our wounded hearts. So don’t be worried about who said what or did, just remember you have a God to take care of you and the hurt that you have been carrying for so many years. Rest now in His presence and receive His peace that passeth all understanding. His peace will make you calm and stress free. Be strong and be of good courage!!
