Last year I remember having a dream one night about King David coming back to life and ruling both Israel and the United States at the same time. When he was in America, as armies came to attack America, David stood at the border, ready to fight and keep them out of the country. Sometimes I wonder if this dream was symbolic of anything, if God gave me this dream because He knew I would be voting for someone who reminds me a lot of King David this year,
As I listen to Donald Trump's speeches and watch the way he responds to his own personal Goliath (the mainstream media, Hillary Clinton, and President Obama), I see a lot of similarities between his way of thinking and King David's way of thinking. Donald Trump is pro-life and wants to appoint Supreme Court judges who are also pro-life and will overturn the infamous Roe vs. Wade case, which, as we all know, made it legal to have abortions in this country. In his famous Psalm 139, King David speaks of God's intimate knowledge of those He created, and one of the things he says is, "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb." (verses 13-14) Abortion supporters will claim that women have the right to control their own bodies, but the fetus has been proven to have a genetic code separate from the mother's. Therefore, the fetus cannot be just a part of the mother's "own body". People who are in favor of abortion will also argue, "Well, what if a woman has been raped?" Rape is traumatic whether pregnancy results from it or not, but having an abortion doesn't make the trauma go away. In fact, abortion itself is traumatizing for women--emotionally and physically. It can cause women to become infertile or lead to suicide that results from overwhelming guilt.
Donald Trump's response to the mainstream media, Hillary, and all of his other opposers is also a lot like King David's response when he was a little shepherd boy fighting Goliath. Instead of backing down, David gathered up all of his faith in God and confronted the giant, walking up to him to fight him without turning back. Donald Trump told James Dobson that he had received Jesus while Mr. Dobson was interviewing him. In fact, both he and his running mate, Mike Pence, have received Jesus. During the vice presidential debate, Mr. Pence mentioned his faith in Jesus. I believe that is why the liberals are so after Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence. Liberals are mainly very anti-Christian values. They support everything the Bible opposes--same-sex marriage, abortion, pornography, sex change, you name it. Donald Trump simply presses on in spite of all of the attacks against him and tells the truth. The whole thing about him groping those nine women was a lie. He did not know any of those women. The liberal media just made it up, because they wanted to get back at him for exposing Bill Clinton's sexual assault and Hillary's threatening the women that Bill raped. No matter how Trump is attacked, he just keeps on campaigning and sticking to what he knows is right, not letting anything hold him back.
Both men also have fierce hearts for their countries and national security. Donald Trump is often called a racist for wanting to keep Muslims out of the country and for making it harder for undocumented immigrants to come into our country, but when you think about it, this is very practical and what needs to get done. We have had way too many problems with drug lords from out of the country trafficking drugs into America, and we have had way too many radical Islamic terrorist attacks on account of the borders being left wide open. Responsible leaders protect their countries. David was a military king and ensured that he had a strong army that would protect Israel from its enemies. Because of David's love for God and protection of Israel, Israel prospered under him. A nation cannot prosper under a leader if the leader doesn't do what it takes to run the country well and keep it safe. Both Donald Trump and King David have understood that.
