Apologetics
In the Old Testament the Passover and many other religious celebrations in Israel were celebrated with unleavened bread rather than with leavened bread, reason being, leavened bread deceives the eyes. Usually, we believe we are receiving more for the buck when in natural fact all you are paying for is air. False prophets are similar in that they are deceiving.
You are the "Salt of the earth" (Matthew 5:13) said, Jesus to his disciples. In other words 'you are the real deal.' Soon the unnatural ability of false prophets would dilapidate because they were founded on false pretense. Unable to compete with our Messiah, the artificial prophets were silenced by his natural ability to teach the Word of God.
His disciples did the same: Observe the crowd that followed Jesus during his time on the earth; he satisfied their taste. He then asked his disciples to do the same before he went to prepare us a place. Unlike the artificial leaders in Israel who lost their savor during the time of Jesus and never recovered, Emmanuel prophets continued in faith. Until the present, believers continue to walk in their light.
Jesus disciples are the light of the world because Jesus is the source from which they grow. The source of a false prophet is the world. False prophet strive on pleasing the world.
Being able to distinguish right from wrong and to truly understand the Word of God is the characteristics of a true prophet. The opposite is true for false prophets. Due to their artificial flavor the presence of a true prophet forces false prophets to rethink their strategy. True prophets do not have strategies. They live by faith and overcome. Any loss of faith is by choice but the faith of a true prophet is firmly in place. Even death cannot separate the sheep from the Shepherd.
