DAY SEVEN
MESSAGES TO THE SEVEN CHURCHES
Part Two
John to the seven churches which are In Asia: grace, be unto you, and peace, from Him which Is, and which was, and which is to come, and from the seven spirits which are before his throne. And from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness, and the first-begotten of thedead, and the Prince of the Kings of the Earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins In his own blood And has made us kings and priests unto God and his father: to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever amen (Revelation 1 :4-6)
What an awesome message John has to give to the seven churches.
First, he describes the source of the message. We find him more fully mentioned in Revelation chapter 4. He is not given a name but He is
described as the one seated upon the throne. Now we see his eternity described. as ','He who was". That means He, existed before time past.
Second, he is described as" the one who Is". That means He is ever present. He lives in the eternal now. Finally, he is described as "the one who Is to come. The coming of course refers to his son Jesus Christ. He is the God of the future and holds all aspects of eternity past present and future in His hand. Such a scene of the eternal God should invoke in each of us the desire to cry out,” holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty which was, which is, and which is to come”. These are the exact words uttered by the four beasts in heaven as they bowed before the throne of the Almighty
