No Shame
Romans 1:16-17
“16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek,
17 For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith”(Amplified Bible).
During my preteen years I was somewhat shy and reserved. I really didn’t talk or mingle much. I’m not sure if it was because of fear, anger, or low self-esteem, but nonetheless, I was not the life of anybody’s party and definitely was not popular. That all changed once I entered my teen years. There was a great transformation in my confidence level after I accepted Christ at 16 and entered into the family of God. Yes, I have made many mistakes since then but I have also grown toward spiritual maturity. It wasn’t long in my walk with the Lord that my faith, confidence, and boldness level literally went through the roof.
I can “so much” identify with the words of the apostle Paul – “I am not ashamed of the gospel (good news) of Christ.” I am in awe that the Word says the gospel is “God’s power working unto salvation.” What that says to me is that the world needs to hear and experience the gospel, the power in order to understand and accept salvation. With that being said, I can’t be shy or ashamed about presenting Jesus – for He said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) me” (John 14:6).
My charge is to also encourage you to put on boldness and tell others about the gospel (good news). Don’t allow shame to be aligned with the royal family. Be thankful and “humbly proud” of who you are and whose you are. Stand up for Jesus. Boldly tell the world about the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the work He did on Calvary’s cross and the peace He gives to all who are in Him. No, no, no. There is no shame in walking worthy of the vocation in which believers have been called. Represent the family of God by wearing your faithfulness, commitment, and dedication well. Live the life of “no shame.”
