Trust In Me (John 14:1 & 2)
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” (NKJV)
Many of us are troubled and deeply disappointed by some of the recent events in our world. The Lord is reassuring us today that all is not lost, and that every prayer we prayed has been heard. He is the name above every name and still seated upon the throne. There is a day coming when the Prince of Peace shall gallop across the nations of the earth on His majestic white stallion, and every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess His Lordship. In the meantime, let the Holy Spirit remind you that He is near and that there is nothing to fear.
1) Do not let your heart be anxious or discouraged. It is easy to see the changing scenery around us and to panic or feel discouraged about recent events, or about things that are not working out in our lives. Our soul (the mind, emotions and will) can carry us away on a trail of fear and anxiety with a life of its own. If we do not reign in our mind and make it subject to our spirit, we can live in the realm of a variety of negative possibilities which can eventually be fulfilled because we believed it would happen, and expected it. The Lord Jesus says “Let not your heart be troubled” because it is possible to stop our mind going where it should not go, and to stop our hearts from filling up with fear and confusion. It is an act of our will to say “no” to doubt, fear and anxiety. You (the spirit being) can take control of your body and soul. You can be the boss of your thoughts and bring them all under the power of the Holy Spirit. Do not let your heart be troubled because God is with you always and has promised to never leave you.
2) Trust the Lord to turn things around for His glory. Jesus tells us to trust in Him and to trust in the Father. When we put our trust in God, He fills us with His peace, and we begin to see the plan and purpose beyond the situation that is before our physical eyes. In these last days, the Father asks His precious Blood bought sons and daughters “Do you trust Me? Can you take your eyes off the world and set them firmly on Me? I am the unchanging One, the eternal One. In Me there is no double standard, no shadow of grey. No spirit of compromise can stand in My way. I am Light and Truth and Holiness; this is how I always was and will always stay. Believe Me child, and put your hope in Me. I am shaking and shifting many things and in the days to come, you will be surprised and amazed when you see. In this end time hour precious one, I am calling you to abandon yourself completely and just learn to trust in Me. Things around you are not as you want them to be, but rest assured that I am above everything, and everything is finally subject to Me. Things are being shaken but they are moving into place. Just trust in My Word and look unto My face. If you trust Me in this hour, I will fill you with My power, I will fill you with My grace.”
3) There is greater glory beyond this finite life. Jesus reminds us that we have an awesome and glorious eternal home. It is Heaven, our Fathers house, and Jesus has gone ahead of us to make ready a place that is personal and specific and perfectly right for His born again Bride. It is a place of unspeakable glory and unspeakable joy, where we will worship the Lamb forever, hallelujah! Whenever circumstances get you down, remember that this is all very temporary and that there is something so much better that awaits you. There is glory, there is beauty, there is the perfect love of Abba in your heavenly home and nothing can take away that hope from you because you belong to Jesus! When we get to our Father’s house it will be like coming home!
So do not be grieved by the things of this world dear friend, believe and trust in the love of the Lord. You are not alone or helpless; God has given us power and authority to bring change through our prayers and through our lives, and the Holy Spirit is with us in these last days, as He partners with us to bring heaven to earth. Whatever the enemy tries to do, we know that Jesus already won every battle and that this earth is the Lord’s and everything in it (Psalm 24:1). So do not let your heart be troubled. Just trust in God and know that He has a wonderful breakthrough for you. With the Holy Spirit by your side, no one can harm you! Call forth the presence of Jesus wherever you are and let His Kingdom fill and flow through your life. Let His perfect peace take away all the confusion and strife. There is something far better in store for you, something brewing in the heavens, because Abba has such great plans for you!
