Without us really consciously admitting it, because of our subconscious desires to be WHO WE ARE, to be bigger than our pasts, we lock away the things that damaged us on our journeys, things that happened before we were even mentally able to make decisions of our own. When this is the case, in a sense we are not truly living in freedom. There are things we made subconscious decisions to block out, because in essence, we felt that to dwell on it, to really face it for what it was, would be even MORE damaging to WHO WE ARE. One thing so many of us honest Christians would love to do if it were possible, would be to press a ''Wipe Out'' button on all the things in our lives we wish did not happen. If only we knew at the time what we were doing, if only we were not stupid and mindless enough...If we knew God then the way we do now, what would our lives be like today? This mindset is connected to feelings of shame amongst other things. In essence, a reason we know God the way we do today, is BECAUSE of our mistakes. (Also because we genuinely love him for his goodness and love, and for the sacrifices that were made in order for us to find freedom and light.) "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." - Jesus, (Luke23:24.) The world is sick and twisted beyond what the average human imagination could possibly comprehend in a million lifetimes. There is only one way to be free from the deception, the lies, the evil, and that is by seeking the TRUTH. ''Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'' John 8:32. The truth about us as human beings, not as Christians, but as humans, is that our natural human nature is self-centered, unforgiving, ignorant, and seeks approval from others in order to feel better about WHO WE ARE. But who are we? The TRUTH is, that none of us really know. The only way to truly know who we really are, is to know who we are in Christ. And how do we know more about who we are in Christ? - By letting go of our ''Old Selves.'' The more we hold on to the images we have created of ourselves in our minds, ideas and images of who we are, who we were, based on our pasts, what we wear, how we look, how impressive we are, based on comparing ourselves to others, on the TV, Soaps, Magazines, Fictional Characters in books, people we have never even met but think we know, people who walk past us in the street - The more and more we loose our real selves. The only way we can ever really ''Get On'' with ourselves, is by being honest about who we are at the core. Without Jesus, many people do not truly like who they are. The ones who genuinely like who they are without Jesus, are not from God. So here we are from God, we are Christians, we don't truly like who we are without Jesus and when we look back at the way we WERE, before finding Jesus, it makes us cringe, we feel like pressing the Wipe Out button more often than we would like. Satan has seen it all. He sees people being born and he sees the same people on the day they die. His plans for our lives are not good, they are the opposite of Gods....But his plans DO exist. Satan's plans are to try to lead us into as many wrong directions as he possibly can before we do eventually find Jesus, so that when we do, he may have done enough damage to make us give up somewhere down the line, hopefully enough times to drive us into permanent bondage and a life filled with hate and fear instead of love and peace. Satan does not know love. He hates watching human beings love. He hates seeing the good God does in our lives because he will never experience it for himself. He is going to hell - and he wants to take as many souls as he possibly can with him. So what is the difference between the people who give up and give in to their selfish human natures, who allow themselves to be deceived and delluded about who they really are? And the ones who continue to walk with God? The ones who don't give up, are the ones who have been through the most pain, they are the ones Satan has caused the greatest harm to. They are the ones who have felt the depths of despair and pain on a level that must come from hell itself. People who have had so much stolen from them, so much damaged, so much sadness and heartache, that they REFUSE to allow the devil to take more, no matter how difficult it may be, not matter how challenging life becomes, they fight the good fight and they KNOW God will reward their faithfulness! Satan wants us in Bondage...In prison...Better still he wants us there without us even realizing it! He wants to trick us, like he tricked Adam and Eve in the beginning, but Thank God we have Jesus! Our Lord and Savior Jesus who came to unlock the chains created by our enemy!...Jesus overcame all the things the devil tries to overcome us with, including the world. We have authority in Jesus name! Sometimes we say ''In Jesus name.....'' In Jesus name......'' But if we are honest, there are times we have used Jesus name to rebuke something, and our hearts haven't truly believed in our own authority...Not because we are non-believers...But because we are not shining our lights brightly enough in the darkness! Because we do not feel worthy enough in our hearts to use the name of Jesus in the way we do. Jesus WANTS us to feel worthy enough - it is the reason he died for us.
''FATHER, FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!''
Sometimes, we know exactly what we are doing, knowing its wrong, and we feel as if we have no control over ourselves, this isn't because we do not love God, it is because we do not love ourselves, or forgive ourselves, as He forgave us. God wants us to love ourselves, in a healthy way. Not selfish self-obsessed love, but love and respect ourselves in a way that shows how truly grateful we are for his love and sacrifice. 1 Corinthians 3:16 ''Do you not know you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?'' We are Gods children! And as twisted and corrupt as this world may be, Gods love is greater and above all things. There is nothing more powerful in heaven or on earth. Take time each day to seek his love, look up at the sky, nature, look at the beauty and wonder in the world, at our childrens faces and smiles, cherish it, count all the blessings in your life. Dont feel bad about the things you did not know you were doing, and as for the things you knew you were doing, or know you are doing...He DOES forgive. There is nothing that can separate us from his love, but he wants us close to Him, not distant. He wants us to be happy. To all those out there who are still going, who haven't given up or given in, who have been through things that Only God knows...You DO deserve happiness. Let God give you all the good things he wants to give you, and LET GO of the pain, shame, defeat, loss, confusion, fear...
PERFECT LOVE DRIVES OUT FEAR! (John 4:18)
