He will send HIS Angel before you
Hi Faith-writers, I’m grateful to God once again for the opportunity to share HIS Word with HIS people. We are going to continue on the Main Topic: “Supernatural Guidance--with a greater focus on Angelic Beings Guiding and Protecting us”.
So far we shared how we have, “The Promise of Seeing Angelic Beings”, as Jesus had shared with Nathanael (John 1:50-51 NKJV); which also applies to us. Because all the Promises of God in Christ Jesus are YES, and in HIM Amen, to the Glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV).
We also know that Angels were assign to us since we were naturally born on the earth until we eventually become Born-again Christians, for as many years as it takes. (Matthew 18:1-10 NKJV/ Hebrews 1:14 AMP) Then we looked at some hard questions about why little children are tragically killed by the hands of terrorist and serial killers. And we Biblically know that all children who die automatically go to heaven even if they are not Born-again. (See, article “Guidance and Protection by Angelic Beings” written 3-9-2015.)
Today, we are going to focus our attention on Angelic Beings preparing the way for us to be prosperous and successful to accomplish the Will of God for our individual lives.
Abraham and his servant
In Genesis chapter 24:1-67 NAS, we have the story of “A bride for Isaac”, as many Study Bibles outline it. The Lord wants me to teach about the Angelic Activity that’s recorded in this chapter. You see, The Holy Spirit wants to high-light for us the Supernatural aspect of this story, so we may learn how to be Guided by Angelic Beings. I will share many short testimonies how I was led to apply this and it works!!! So let’s point out some Scriptures and then outline them.
Now Abraham was old, advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in every way. (v. 1)
Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his household, who had charge of all that he owned, “Please place your hand under my thigh, (v. 2)
And I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I live, (v. 3)
But you will go to my country and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac. (v. 4)
The servant said to him, “Suppose the woman is not willing to follow me to this land; should I take your son back to the land from where you came?” (v. 5)
Then Abraham said to him, “Beware that you do not take my son back there! (v. 6)
“The Lord, the God of Heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, ‘To your descendants I will give this land,’ HE WILL SEND HIS ANGEL BEFORE YOU, and you will take a wife for my son from there. (v. 7)
“But if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be free from this my oath; only do not take my son back there.” (v. 8) (Genesis 24:1-8 NAS)
Let’s outline these verses;
1. Abraham wanted a bride for Isaac. So he called on his most trusted servant and made an oath with him to get a wife for Isaac. Now, we are told by Jesus not to swear to the Lord, or our heads or upon anything (See, Matthew 5:33-37 NKJV). So we cannot presently apply this point of the story as New Testament Christians. (Just to be clear.)
2. The second point that we should consider although I’m focusing on Angels and the Supernatural Connections and Guidance; is that Abraham told his servant to get a wife for Isaac from his people. Abraham’s people were believers in the God of Heaven and the God of the earth. Although, it’s known that they did have a little idolatry mixed in their faith. However, Abraham knew God and was called by God to leave his place of birth and go to the land God would give him and his descendants. (Genesis 24:7 NAS)
If we are Born-again Christians, we must seek a spouse who is also Born-again (a Genuine Believer). (See, 1 Corinthians 7:1-39 NKJV/ 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 NKJV)
I found my wife online on this Christian web-site called, (Love and Seek.com). It took 2 months and screening out 572 women who wanted to be with me. I prayed and narrowed down the potential ones and was left with 4 choices. I chose the first one and she was the one. I will share more detail in a few minutes. And in future articles when we speak about relationships.
3. The third point we need to see is that Abraham made sure that his servant would not bring Isaac back to his hometown if the woman decides not to come back with Abraham’s servant. What’s the big deal about this point? God’s perfect plan had to be carried out with the previous Command that HE had gave to Abraham. Abraham was where God wanted him to be in Canaan. Abraham wanted a good girl who knows his God—the God of Heaven and earth, to be Isaac’s wife. That meant she would have to come to Isaac in Canaan—not Isaac go back to the land God initially called Abraham from. This is important when we desire to do the Will of God. We must remain doing the Will of God currently in the place HE has us in, while we are trying to successfully seek more Blessings from God.
I personally left Brooklyn my place of Birth to come to the Bronx. I had a Dream I was living in the Bronx in 1999 and Ministering there. I did not move to the Bronx until 2007. This was part of the reasoning that went on in my mind as I meditated which of the 4 women I’m to marry. There was only one was in the Bronx. (Hello, confirmation!)
If Isaac would have gone to see Abraham’s extended family, they would have probably tried to keep him over there and eventually he would have missed God’s Blessing and ultimately lost all the riches Abraham acquired from God. Because they would have milked Isaac for it. How do I know this? If we read on that’s what happened to Abraham’s servant they wanted him to stay for 10 days longer and that would have led to other things (See, Genesis 24:52-58 NAS).
I’m not suggesting that we become greedy believers—it’s simply about us being a wise believers. Abraham looked out for his father, and Lot and it only delayed God’s Blessing in his life. (We need to read Genesis chapters 12-24, to understand what I am saying here.) When God wants to prosper us we can’t have people with their hands out all the time when God is Blessing us privately. When God blesses us abundantly where we can give abundantly and still have leftover—that’s when we can always give. People have to learn how to serve God for themselves and Learn how to tap into the Blessings God has for them individually or as a family.
For example, if I was still in Brooklyn, I would not be able to write online. I would be renovating all the houses my family own about 14, or repairing them for free (which I did before and it doesn’t bother me). Then I would be interrupted all the time with the cares of this life and family issues. Everyone would want to come over and hangout in my crib because I have a lot of things and most of the time I’m giving stuff away. I’m not being selfish or bragging about what I have. I’m simply saying, when we have been given a Dream or Vision to move away or go somewhere else—God knows why even if we don’t. Now, I know why I’m in the Bronx and not in Brooklyn. Abraham knew why he was in Canaan and not in Ur. Abraham was going to inherit the Blessings of God in Canaan. God gave Canaan to Abraham. God brought me to the Bronx, the Bronx is God’s and I’m going to play my role in what God has for me here.
HE WILL SEND HIS ANGEL BEFORE YOU
This is the primary Point of this article, GOD WILL SEND HIS ANGEL BEFORE US—to do what? To be prosperous in what we are going to do in accomplishing the WILL OF GOD. God’s Will for Abraham was to Bless him with descendants. That means Abraham would need to find a wife for Isaac for that to happen. So, in keeping with God’s Plan Abraham made sure his servant would find that wife in the land that Abraham knew would be ideal for Isaac to have as his wife. (Another Believer!)
Now, let’s go into the servants’ experience of his Faith in the statement that Abraham made, “HE WILL SEND HIS ANGEL BEFORE YOU.” Abraham’s servant arrives at Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. (Gen. 24:10 NAS) He prays a special prayer that Abraham did not tell him. But that he wisely knew would work out for the best to narrow down what woman would be Isaac’s Bride. He prayed, that if he asked her for water that she would not deny him, and that she would go the extra mile and give water to his camels. (Gen. 24:12-15 NAS)
Before he finished praying the girl came by drew water and walked away. He met her and asked her for a drink she gladly gave it to him and she volunteered to give water to the camels. Just like Abraham’ servant prayed. (Gen. 24:15-22 NAS).
As she was doing this he was questioning the Lord if that was her? But there was no question about it, her enthusiasm confirmed the prayer that was made—she’s the one!!! Now, there’s a lot to explain here. But to keep it short.
1. We must believe, when we are attempting to do the Divine Will of God. And we should consider all the options. Like, Abraham he knew Isaac needed a wife. She had to be a believer. She had to go to Canaan to live with Isaac. Isaac was not to go back to Ur.
2. Abraham’s servant Prayed a prayer (I Believe) he learned from watching Abraham over the years. Abraham did not specifically tell him to pray for a woman that would water the camels and that’s her. No! Abraham’s servant used the wisdom of God that he learned over the years watching his master pray and believe God. So he prayed a unique prayer.
3. The Angels were sent ahead to prepare the meeting location. The right timing for the servant to arrive when all the women went out to draw water (See, Genesis 24:12-14 NAS)
4. The Angels made sure that she was the one that caught Abraham’s servants’ eye above all the women that went there.
5. Then the Angels prepared Rebekah’s family to receive Abraham’s servant and listen closely to the testimony of his quest and prayer he made to come into contact with Rebekah. After the family heard the testimony they even said, this is from God (Genesis 24:28-51 NAS)
PRAYING THAT GOD WOULD SEND HIS ANGELS BEFORE US
In my old Bible I marked the place Prayer in verse 45; (Genesis 24:45 NAS) I cannot remember what year. But it had to be in 1993-1994. I began praying this same prayer for everything;
1. Job Interviews; God send Your Angels to prepare the place so I may find favor and land a good job. In 1994, I landed a job as a store clerk earning twice as much as the cabinet shop I was in.
2. In Ministry: I would Pray, Lord send Your Angels so I may successfully Minister with no hindrances. I would have enough time to tell someone about Jesus and they were impressed.
3. In Bible Studies as a Teacher: I would Pray Lord, send Your Angels to cause all the brothers and unbelievers to come to hear Your Word being taught under a Powerful Anointing and the Classroom would be filled. And the praise report I received by those who attended would say, Man Brother, when you Minister you sense the presence of God in the place. I couldn’t give them a sermon about Angels then. I would simply say, Praise the Lord.
4. I would go somewhere and I would tell God to send His Angels. Every time I would remember to do that I was always successful at what I wanted to achieve in the Kingdom of God on earth.
5. Seeking a spouse? Pray, Lord send Your Angels to prepare the place and allow me to be sensitive to the one You desire for me to have. Follow the example in (Genesis 24:1-51 NAS) add your own take on it based on the circumstances you find yourself in and the meeting location that is ideal and don’t forget they have to be a believer.
6. Seeking to acquire Property? Pray, where would You have me move to Lord, allow me to be successful to find the property and send Your Angels before me to make the right deal and close on that Property.
7. Seeking to expand Your Church? Or Territory? (Exodus 23:20-33 NAS) Applies to you entering the promise land and expanding it and making sure that all the enemies are gone! God will send HIS Angels to assist you and the congregation to win the souls in that region for the kingdom of God. Too much detail to expound on this point, but the Promise of God concerning growth and Angelic Beings being a part of that expansion is in Scripture for you season Ministers who know what I’m talking about. So, instead of binding satan alone—we must ask God to Send HIS Angels to help us expand. (I will go deeper in the future, God willing!)
May God Bless you to Pray and watch as you witness God sending HIS ANGELS before you to prosper you in the way God desires for you to experience in Jesus’ name, Amen.
