Sure God created man before woman. But then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece. ~Author Unknown
Justin Moore - Til My Last Day http://youtu.be/EajrbieKxwo
I think if we men want to be honest here, there is no doubt who truly runs our households. Sure, we may take on the role of Head of Household, but do we really think we are running the show? I sometimes joke with my wife, Janice that she is the master trainer, and ought to offer classes to younger women. I still don't know how she did it, but she completely domesticated this former wild child, and turned me into a man who cooks, cleans, and pretty much lives to please her. How did she do it? i never remember her once trying to change me, or ordering me around, or belittling me. In fact, all she ever did was love me, encourage me, and most importantly, pray for me. There is a quote that says, "A woman can't change a man because she loves him, a man changes himself because he loves her." It seems like these last 26 years I have completely changed into someone I kinda like; someone I can look at in the mirror, and not be ashamed. That's the power of love! Love makes us want to do everything in our power to make the one we love happy. When I was a young man, i would look at my uncle Clyde and think, what is wrong with that man? He treated his wife like a queen. He was always all lovie-dovie with her anytime he was around us. I used to see that as a sign of weakness, just a man whose wife had him wrapped around her little finger. What I did not understand was "love." Now I find myself acting much like my Uncle did. But I no longer see it as a sign of weakness, I see it as the way it was meant to be; the way we are actually instructed to love our wives in Ephesians 5:25. I am not sure it is possible to love our wives as much as Christ loves His Church, but we can certainly strive for it. It's like the quote, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." If we give our wives the very best we have to offer, even if we fall a little short, we will still leave our wives happy, and most importantly they will KNOW they were loved.
Have a blessed Saturday everyone.
From my heart to yours!
