There are many people who will remember you. However, the question is: “Can they bless you?” The Bible says, “God is mindful of us. He will bless us.” (Psalm 115:12) The blessings of the Lord make one rich and He adds no sorrow to it (Proverbs 22:10). When will God bless you?
Without trials and tribulation there is no promotion to the next level of faith which is followed by blessings. Take the case of Noah. He preached for 120 years and never won a soul. Earthly blessings are secondary to God. The primary purpose of God for us is to preach the Gospel to the unsaved. He came into this world to save mankind. As His followers it is our duty to tell others about Him even if they insult and ridicule us. A word of God today to someone may yield fruit many years later. Our duty is to sow, water and nurture, but the harvest of souls comes from the Lord.
Noah lived during terrible times. There is a saloon on this earth where women work with no clothes above their hip. People rush there. Advance bookings are almost full daily. Sad but true. The spirit of adultery has reached its peak. Flee from friends, places and circumstances that seem a snare that causes you to sin. Be holy for the One who called you is holy. During the second coming of Lord Jesus Christ it is recorded that earth will be just as how it was during the time of Noah.
Noah believed in something called rain which he had not seen all his life. Until then there was only dew. Therefore, when Noah told about rain people ridiculed him. Now the ark is tossing sandwiched by water. There is rain falling from above and the floods rising from below. I guess something like the tsunami. Mrs. Noah comes on picture. She questions, “Did God tell you when this voyage is going to end? Perhaps Noah said, “Nope!” Again she rephrased her question, “Did God say where we are going to land?” Perhaps Noah had the one and only answer, “Nope!” Probably his children also had put forth such questions for which Noah had no answers. God remembered Noah. He made the winds blow. He made the waters to dry. He made the ark stand on Ararat which means firmness. When faced with trials and tribulations God remembers you. You are remembered.
Perhaps God has made a covenant with you. God made a covenant with Abraham. Abraham had to leave his native country and travel all the way to Shechem. That’s about 1810km away. It is like being transplanted which really is uncomfortable. Abraham had to separate from Lot his nephew. Abraham also had to detach from Hagar and Ishmael which was indeed a heart-ache to him. When king of Sodom grants Abraham the liberty to take all the spoils that is when his hands are stretched towards heaven. Abraham wanted to give glory to God alone. Trials, test, tribulations, temptations did not end there. Abraham had to sacrifice his only son Isaac and after the outcome he was crowned as, “Father of faith”.
The Bible says, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials. That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:6, 7. Joseph was likewise tested. The Bible says, “Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him (Joseph). Psalm 105:19
When we are baptized a covenant is made betwixt God and us. When we take part in the sacrament – body and blood of Lord Jesus, a convent is sealed betwixt us and God. Heaven and earth will pass away but His word to you will not. For God is Almighty to perform His purpose in your life. The words may seem to linger but surely it will come to pass. We have to wait. Waiting is almost an obsolete word in an instant world. The outcome is that when everything is instant even death seems to be instant. There is a time between the prophecy and its fulfillment and in between is the period of waiting. That is exactly the process time. The time when God breaks, melts, molds and fills us. There was a time for the prophecy concerning Lord Jesus Christ to be fulfilled, there was a time for Him to be betrayed. There was a time for Him to be crucified. Now there is a time concerning you as well. A time for God bless you. The Bible says: “He will ever be mindful of His covenant” (Psalm 111:5). When God makes a covenant with you, you are remembered.
Joseph is sold to Potiphar, an Egyptian, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard. The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house and all that he had to put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake, and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.
God will bless you when He wants others to see that His hand is upon you. Others will marvel at the blessings which God has granted you. They will know that you are blessed because God remembers you. They will hand over the authority to you. They will offer everything into your hands just to feel the glory of God. It is God’s desire to bless you to bless others.
God remembered Abraham and spared Lot when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. The Bible says: “And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.” (Genesis 19:29).
When you pray, plead or petition for others God remembers you and blesses them. What a blessed privilege is that. Therefore, let us place the benefit of others first in our mind for God to remember us, bless us and bless them for whom we are also concerned. When God wants to bless others through you then you are remembered and blessed.
The Bible says: “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32) God’s love for you and me cannot be fathomed. It is God’s nature to remember you. You are engraved in the palm of His hand. Remember the nail-pierced scar is still there. How will God forget you His creation. Always remember that even in your loneliness you are remembered.
