Encouragement
The Lord is my Shepherd. He has been my Shepherd throughout my life. Even when I did not recognize or know Him, He knew me and recognized me. The New day of the New Year is a great gift that He has granted to me to find out His way and walk in His way with Him.
My Shepherd leads me to green pastures
He is my Shepherd tending me towards green pastures. He has been guiding me with timely inspirations sparkling in my conscience.
His spark of light has been the personal insight in me that "If the Lord is my Shepherd I won't want what I can't have and what He is not willing to give meI shall not want". His guidance has always been an assurance that if I accepted the Lord as my guide I would not go without the necessities of life.
My selfishness misled me away from His guidance
I tried to put out those sparks of fire, inspired in me, due to my selfish desires and walked away from the the path in which He has been guiding me.
I wanted to take giant leaps and possess what is not absolutely necessary for me. I was tempted to achieve the "prideful ideals" that were luring my selfishness. I was tempted to believe that eating the "forbidden fruits" can take me to greater heights that might not have been the plan of my Lord's guidance. The efforts of my pride made me fall into abysmal pits.
My Lord never abandoned me
My Lord never leaves me in disappointment or despair. He never wants me to go astray into darkness. He has always been blessing me with His divine providence. He paid all the price for my deliverance whenever needed and has been building up relationships.
I belong to my Lord
My pride and selfishness tried to possess things and act against His will and plan
Everything belongs to Him. But my weakness of selfishness cuts me away from Him and "own everything as my selfish possession". Neal Maxwell, an Apostle of LDS Church, said, “One of the last, subtle strongholds of selfishness is the natural feeling that we ‘own' ourselves. Of course we are free to choose and are personally accountable. But we belong to Him. We are to become consecrated along with our gifts, our appointed days, and our very selves."
Let me walk with my Shepherd in the New Year
The New Year is a great gift for me to walk with Him and enjoy the green pastures that He provides me. They will satisfy me in every way and fill me with great joy. In Him I need not worry about anything. If I am free from anxieties and worries, I will enjoy the bliss of heaven on this earth itself.
