“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21 (ESV)
I have spoken to many people that have told me that God is just a crutch for the weak. I have been told God is for the dreamers not doers. I’ve heard that we don’t need God, what we need is a strong back and back bone. I have seen people turn down millions of dollars because it’s not enough millions. We have all heard “Every man for him-self”. I have heard I don’t need a Higher Power I need Will Power.
This may sound like an understatement but all of those statements are obstacles to a relationship with God. There is one word to sum these statements up, and that word is “TOO”. Too smart, Too financially wealthy, Too good looking, Too much fame, Too many fans, Too much pride, Too physically strong, Too emotionally strong, Too Wise, Too cynical and the list goes on. Who needs God when I have it all?
God has told us His grace is sufficient. God has told us to trust in Him, bring Him our burdens, worship Him, Obey Him, Love Him, Learn from Him, and follow His word and love His Son. Even those who have “TOO” struggle, where do they go for strength and comfort? Where do they go for eternal life? Don’t get me wrong, I am not picking on the beautiful, intelligent, creative, strong, wise, or financially wealthy. I am talking about the, “TOO”.
Let’s not be “TOO” to enjoy a relationship with God here on earth and in our eternal lives. Let us be humble and grateful for the gifts God has given us. We are in this together; it is not every man for him-self. Don’t be “TOO” to love, help and encourage another. And don’t be “Too” to miss out on an awesome relationship with Our Loving Father, the Creator of Everything.
God Bless
