Eternally diamonds... we hear that the word diamond has its roots in the Greek word ' adamas ' …meaning unconquerable and invincible, while ' diaphanes ', means very sheer and light; almost completely transparent or translucent still reffering to and describing this precious stone.
Friendships that are genuine are invaluably rare and can be compared to diamonds
Centuries past in some cultures, it was believed that a diamond could rebuild a wrecked marriage.
It was also used in battles as a symbol of courage… the diamond can not be cut by any other but its own kind, though the diamond is the hardest rock known by man, it is known to be the only precious gem with only one element: carbon, nevertheless it can only be melted when exposed to a temperature of 5500 degrees Celsius!
Are diamonds really forever? How? It is not clear when they first one appeared and where but we know today that many countries around the world are ‘rich’ in the natural resource that forms from volcanic lava and some other process.
Can these beautiful stones be destroyed? As incredible as it may seem, the theory is…that the diamond that adorns those expensive jewelry you see will probably last forever - at least while Earth exists.
They are known to be the most resistant minerals on our dear planet Earth, and can only be melted when exposed to a temperature of 5500°C, the possibility of which is null because the global atmosphere can never reach such a high temperature, even if it was hit by an enormous meteor that would eliminate all life form.
The only way they could melt is if, the Earth is engulfed by the Sun, which has a temperature of 5800°C!
This issue about this precious stone got me thinking about how few frienships and relationship remain authentic and stable.
Today the 10th of June adds another year to my years and I started reflecting on the things that were important and those that really were not.
I could not help but give thanks in humble appreciation to Almighty God for his mercy, love and constant goodness in every situation.
My thoughts dwelled fondly on the kind and consistent connections of friends and family who over the years, wherever they are in the world in the moment, never forgot to send an SMS, a phone call or online greeting, just to wish me well.
The love and bond that we share is like the diamond, though formed from sludge and slime of fire and gaseous chemicals, turns out beautiful to behold, indestructible because of the nature of God in it, stands the test of time continually out of mutual respect and love and never fades because of its pure brilliance.
Though rare in our world today with the meanness of selfish desires, ME, MYSELF and I syndrome and the hardness that has systematically engulfed peoples of our time, there are still those who genuinely care for their neighbours and are real BROTHER’S KEEPERS
Are you one of the few? Be a true friend to someone today, make the world a happier place, pleasing God in the process and changing lives as you grow stronger and durable, eternally like the diamond
