Got Me going in Circles - A Short Sermon
Scripture Reading: Joshua 6: 3 thru 5
1 Corinthians 1:26 thru 28
Key Verse: Joshua 6:3 – “You shall march around the city. All you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.”
Going In Circles
I’m a ever rolling wheel, without a destination real
I’m a ever spinning top, twilling around till I drop
Oh but, what am I to do, my mind is in a world pool
Give me a little hope, one small thing to cling to
You got me going in circles
Going round and round I go
You got me going in circles
Going round and round I go
I’m a faceless cloud, with timeless hopes that never stop
Oh but when I feel that way, my soul, my soul is at stake
Oh but what am I to do, my mind is in a world pool
Give me a little hope, one small thing to cling to.

Folks are running circles, playing head games, unnecessary stuff making you go around in circles. We question if we have made the right choices because, we are no closer to our goals than 3 years ago. Confusion, frustration, not focused, and lost of direction start to set in. Some of us spend an entire lifetime with no direction, no goals, and going in circles.
God promised Joshua and the people that he (Joshua) would remain in Canaan and follow His instruction.
All we have to do is just obey Him… Trust Him… Follow Him… His Instructions…His Commandments… His Word. God has a plan for us. As stated in 1 Corinthians 1:26 “For you see your calling brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called.”
God did not choose the wise, the rich and famous, or those of noble birth. God chose those who were lowly, poor, weak and common. God chose what we call, “everyday people” to bring His word. He uses ordinary people to do extra ordinary things. God uses the weary, to glorify His name. Sometimes God has us walk in circles to accomplish His will. There are times when obedience to God appears to be fruitless. In your distress say to God, “My Father I do not understand you, but I trust you.” Then you will experience His help.
Please know that God is preparing us for our “Greatest Day”. He is making you ready. But, first you have to come face to face with the devil. The problem you thought you have fixed returns again. Trouble and problems always seem to come back, sometimes in disguise and sometimes worse.
What do you do when trouble returns? Do you throw in the towel, do you give in? Trouble is to be expected. Trouble has a way of searching us out. As Christians we must constancy be on guard against trouble (Mr. Devil himself). You have to be processed for your promotion.
Your troubles will become revelations. Your trials will become testimonies. God has a plan for your life. He is able…He can deliver you. He has already given you what you need to be a success.
