The Death Warrant Signed
When God Don’t Like Us
When God don’t like us what do we do? Many don’t know that God don’t like them. They think they can do anything they want to and think they are okay. Well guess what? We really sign our death warrant without knowing it. Many times we do things over time and time again and God gets tired of us. He gives us a time of repentance and we never really repent because we don’t think we have done anything wrong. Lord the help! I moved in a new apartment that had little crawling creatures that I do not like. I don’t like roaches and refuse to live with them. I put poison down and the apartment manager had it sprayed. As I watched a baby roach struggle to stay alive, I watched it get up and down time and time again. I thought about salvation how we get in and out, up and down.
The spirit involved today is one of control as the one that Jezebel possessed. God gave her a time of repentance also but she would not. Instead she sought to put to death all of the Prophets of God that would not do what she said. Leaders of the people of God have to be very careful that we don’t claim God’s people as ours. Born again believers are people that comes into the midst of us in Churches, heard the Word, accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and they belong to God and are as little sheep whom we must be very careful to lead and not hurt. We must walk in the revelation of Jesus Christ revealing the person of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Redeemer of the world and as the conqueror of evil, and to present in symbolic form the program by which He will carry out His work.
Revelation 2:2-5 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil; and thou has tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars. And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast labored, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works, or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Revelation 2: 19-23 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience and thy works and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols; and I gave here space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
The death warrant has been signed for some of us already, yet God is still trying to give us time to repent. Repent, why repent? I am saved, living seemingly a life of Christ, and don’t commit no big sin; I just lie conveniently. Some have lied so much even the lie is the truth and we don’t care about who we lie on or what we say about them. We guess what some of those people are sent by God to bring the salve needed to bring forth deliverance to some of the most renown leaders. The woman that did the best work when she anointed Jesus body for his burial in Matthew 26:7-13 didn’t consider the price of the oil or what she could have made off of it had she sold it but his disciples did. We give too much consideration in our minds to stuff that don’t matter with God only to us. Our motives and intents are not pure towards God or his people. It may seem that we have gotten by, but we haven’t gotten away; God is looking and booking the matters as they pertains to his holiness, righteousness and glorification.
Jesus gave the twelve disciples a trial run. Matthew 10:1 and when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. He told them to go not into the way of the Gentiles and unto the any city of the Samaritans but go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel Tell them the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, not brass in your purses, nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves; for that workman is worthy of his meat. Some of us is carrying too much baggage that God is tired of. The days of excuses are over. We cannot and will not be found worthy for we went outside of peace and left without peace. We can kill the victory God gives us because we neglect to follow the vision God has mandated for us to follow.
Jesus in Matthew 23:13-33 tells us of our woes and denounces them. He called us scribes, and Pharisees; hypocrites Why? Let’s see we shut up the kingdom of heaven against men, devour widow’s houses and pretend to make long prayer, compass sea and land to make on proselyte, and when he is made we make them twofold more the child of hell than ourselves and we are blind guides which says whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor. He says the temple is greater than gold, but we have to watch the one making the sacrifice. The temple is greater because the gold is sanctified there. The gift is not greater than the altar that sanctifies the gift. Woe to us because we forget the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith that we should have done in accordance with God. We are blind guides that strain even at a gnat and swallow a camel at the first sign of trouble. We lose it and make clean the outside for others to see but within we are full of extortion and excess. We appear clean and beautiful outside but our insides are rotten. We know how to appear righteous to man but within we are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Because we do certain things in God’s house, kill the Prophets God sends, kill the Spirit of God, partake in innocent blood, witness of ourselves and delete God out how do we think we will escape the damnation of hell? Listen to what Jesus is saying, if we exalt ourselves we shall be abased. When we are abased Christ takes us down and afterward come the death warrant signed sealed and delivered unless repentance comes before the clock strikes zero.
Jezebel name means chaste (immaculate, unstained, innocent, unblemished, virginal, moral, modest, proper, decent or uncontaminated) so a name or title don’t mean we will live up to it. She thought she was infallible and strong but she was no match for God. She was a King’s daughter, reared and educated as a Baal worshipper but no match for God. When she became Ahab’s queen, his wife she not only claimed the right of continuing in her ancestral religion, but also tried to impose it upon the people of Israel. We can know we are wrong and still do what we want to because we can; but God. She got Ahab to do things wrong through her power of persuasion being she was his wife and he wanted to please her but he lost his life for not standing up for right. How could something that’s meant to be so harmless and pure be so corrupt?
She induced Ahab to erect a temple to Baal, and imported a retinue of Baal Priests (I Kings16:32) and the move was fearlessly resisted by the Prophets of the Lord; headed by Elijah. When Elijah persisted in his efforts at Mt. Carmel, Jezebel threatened him with death, causing his flight and temporary retirement. We can’t be afraid to stand up for God. Elijah wasn’t afraid he was physically to drained to deal spiritually with her at that time. When we do a work for God some things we have to table for a minute, be revamped and restored in the Spirit then do spiritual warfare.
Later she caused the judicial murder of Naboth, gave his vineyard to Ahab and confiscated his property (I Kings 21:7). When we go after things we have to go after them right for otherwise it brings deadly consequences. He action brought Elijah once more to the front, denouncing the crime and predicting punishment for both Jezebel and Ahab. The prediction was fulfilled when Ahab died from wounds received in battle and Jehu, after his encounter with Joram and Ahaziah, came to Jezreel and demanded the life of Jezebel (2 Kings 9:30). Like Jezebel we have many that overstep the bounds of God and bring forth death to everything they touch because of that same idolatrous spirit. In revelation 2:20 here Jezebel earned a name for herself becoming the apocalyptic symbol of seduction to idolatry, the worship of idols, images, or anything which is not God. It is the worship of false gods and was practiced at a very early period of the history of man. Adam ate off of that which looked good and was forbidden to eat of. That desire for things rather than obey God was then birth forth in the earth.
Idolatry covers us making our own way rather than trusting God, not only making idols for which we as a people do today. We make people idols and the people love it to be so for they love to be seen and known. They have images in their minds as they dress on Sunday morning about how good they will look before the people but what is God seeing; human sacrifices made in idolatrous worship. This means the worship experience is not about God but all about them. They have exalted themselves to be something when they are not. But every object rather human, physical, or spiritual will be destroyed. There are penalties against idolatry and these vain imaginations we carry in our hearts and minds. It brings forth wickedness that we don’t know is there and forces evil to come forth from out of us that we didn’t know was embedded in us.
Proverbs 6:16-19 these six things doth the Lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. The death warrant is signed; we signed it ourselves with our doings and evil ways. Our desire for notability in excess drives us to prominence, influence, distinction and fame and takes us down a road to destruction outside of the will of God. Walking in callings and positions not designed for us causes God and people not to like us. Jezebel usurped authority over her husband and God. She had a spirit of control that controlled her destiny in the end.
We have to be careful to honor God in our worship for He will have no other god or thing before Him. He is the Father and Master of Mankind; yet we don’t esteem him as such when we honor positions more than God. God because of this will allow a Temple to close down rather than allow it to continue in hypocrisy. People we need to remember that it is God that is great and his name is to be feared. God is not being properly worshipped because of the Priests because they are not acting in godly ways when it comes to leadership in the Church today. They have loosed the reigns and have been lacking in giving the people true instructions in God’s law, walking in righteousness and peace, or turning people from wickedness. It’s because they corrupted the call of God and took on positions they weren’t qualified to walk in God despises them. God don’t like us and will curse us as refugees that we be defiled. God do execute justice although he loves us. There are costly consequences to spiritual disobedience for God does not delight in those that do evil. God always send his messengers to let us know that He is on his way to purify and remove the wicked. He gives us a time of repentance that we would once again present pleasing offerings to God. God is just; His character and His promises do not change, we do!
Some people think it is vain to repent; there is present an arrogant spirit just as with Jezebel. Some think it is vain to serve God just as Jezebel served idols rather we know it or not. To serve the flesh more than God makes our bodies idols why do we see that the body is so sick and man is always trying to find a cure? God is our cure! Sin has been cured through the remission of sin by Jesus Christ. Repentance and true repentance not just lip talk is required of every man, woman, boy, and girl. The people today are so mixed up that they call right wrong and wrong right. They call the proud the blessed ones and the wick the strong ones. But God has a book that included the names of those who honor him in Spirit and in Truth, those that are faithful; God’s special possessions that is as precious as an only son.
In the great day of the Lord, God will distinguish between the wicked and the righteous who serve Him. His burning fire will destroy the arrogant evildoers and give joy and healing to those who fear Him. Will the death warrant be signed on us today? God’s love and justice does not change. Honoring God, the great King is not accomplished through hypocritical worship for He deserves our best. Living lives contrary to his Will are acts that destroy the family structure He set forth in the Garden of Eden and makes worship unacceptable. God hates the lifestyles we choose outside of his Word and we must teach against it even if it causes our death. To die in Christ is life eternal. The teacher or preacher who does not fear God, give true instruction form God’s Word, walk in uprightness, and turn people from evil will not receive God’s blessings.
God does distinguish between the righteous and the wicked; therefore, it is worthwhile to fear and serve God. It is God that signs the death warrant. It is time for us to change, repent our ways and turn to God once more and again. Eternal life is a promise, don’t sell out for the things more than the one that created the things. We can’t win outside of Christ. Come back into the fold or if you have never been saved, salvation is here for us today. The end of Jezebels life was tragic and disappointing. She was called a prophetess but she served on the wrong side of the law. She denied the law of God and became a god. Her success and fame perished with her and she caused death to come to her husband. Her desire took her not even to a grave, the dogs ate her up leaving only her lips and nails for she spoke evil and touched unclean things. Ahab departed from his upbringing; wholehearted devotion to God. He broke the very first commandment by his inclusive policy of allowing idol worship at Jerusalem.
Are you today ready to love God with all of your heart? Are you ready today to put Him first in everything in your life? Are you willing to make the sacrifice needed for God to come in and reign in your heart? Your heart can be purified today by faith. Be not conformed to this world or the things therein but be transformed by the renewing of your mind today that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Come!
