Allergic To This World
Romans 13:1-2 let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech ye therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye will prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect; will of God.
Allergic, what does that mean? It means of, relating to, inducing, or affected by altered bodily reactivity to an antigen in response to a first exposure. Allergies mean that an exaggerated or pathological reaction to substances, situations, or physical states that are without comparable effect on the average individual has occurred. The things that God wants us to be allergic to are things detrimental to our soul; sinful in nature that gives God a feeling of antipathy or repugnance towards us. God has a seriously total dislike for sin and when we are in sin; He suffers distaste in his mouth that makes him throw us up. He said he would rather we be cold or hot, if we are warm he cast us out. God wants us to have the opposite feeling of how we do, act, and think from that of people in the world. God called the church out to be holy, sanctified, and cleansed from all unrighteousness. God hates our inconsistencies in our walk with and for Him. We contradict what we say we believe when we don’t obey the Word of God and even the sinner have a strong dislike, distaste or antagonistic approach to God. We stand in the way of sinners and sit in the seat of the scornful.
We have to subject ourselves to God. Subject ourselves to the teaching and doctrine of Jesus Christ unless we build ourselves up on the doctrine and teaching of another man’s foundation. Paul in Romans 13:14 said we are to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. The flesh is worldly and was applied to God’s people as a covering for the soul and spirit to live that man may work in the earth and keep it. The world is also used to II Corinthians 5:19 to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself: not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. We were to be reconciled to God by the work of Christ because we are his ambassadors of faith. We are to be so fearful to sin against God that we become allergic if we sin as if we had eaten or come in contact with something deadly. The love of Christ that gave his life for us constrains us to live unto him and not ourselves. We are to know no man after the flesh for we know them by the Spirit because Christ died and we don’t know him after the flesh. If we are new creatures in Christ old things are passed away. We are no longer bound by sin unless we want to sin. Ever man has a choice and must make up their minds to choose Christ over the world.
Being allergic to the world means we must purify our lives. We must cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. We must be allergic to committing acts unpleasing to God and man. Wronging man corrupts our relationship with God and defrauds our bodies, minds, souls, and spirit. This kind of thing does nothing in the area of edifying God. We walk in the flesh but do not war after the flesh because the weapon of our warfare is not carnal, but mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. When we are allergic to sin we work on the inside and outside. The outside cleans up because of the work that has been done on the inside called salvation. The work of salvation makes sin mute in our lives when we follow on to know Christ in a more significant way. We don’t measure ourselves through comparison to others but to Christ. People are one of the things in the world we must become allergic to; for we know them after the flesh and anyone put before God makes them an enemy of God. The world is often referred to in the Word of God as evil or the sphere of evil and lie under divine condemnation. It is in darkness and in bondage to Satan and the world will pass away. So after we have done all to be happy in the world we can lose our soul.
We must become allergic to being evil and hypocritical. We must become allergic to being destitute of wisdom. Actually we should be tired of being Satan’s puppets. He should make us sick and we should be sick and tired of being his button at the end of the string. Satan is full of folly and when he uses us we are full of folly and loves pleasure more than God. We should be allergic to what the world has to offer us for it takes us up and drops us down like a hot potato. Satan portrays to us that everything is okay for us to partake in but it’s not. He makes us think because God made it good it’s good. Man has changed the makeup of things God made good that they have become contaminated. We need to know that the eye is never satisfied with seeing nor the ear with hearing and we are not to utter everything that comes to our mind. There are many things that increase vanity in the life of man. We set our affections on things of the earth rather than on things above. We conform to this world and sell our souls out to the Devil and refuse to renew our minds in the things of God. We need to become so allergic we hate the world as it is.
Men are lovers of themselves rather than God, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from which we are to turn away from. We get right in with them because we love the praise man gives us; the world love its own but we don’t fit in because we are not of the world. The sooner we realize that we can’t do everything others are doing and trust God completely we will find that we are a much happier, stress free people. St. John 2:15-17 love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God shall abide forever. We must be allergic to the world and deny ungodly lusts.
Will we follow after our brother Cain? Will we be greedy for things and perish in our lusts or will we be so allergic to things that we will seek the more of God. It’s time we seek to build our faith praying in the Holy Ghost. We must remain unspotted before the world that God be glorified in the world. We must not become murmurers or complainers walking after our own lusts speaking things with great swelling words of untruth that man will wrap their arms around us. Then when we lose all control of our faculties; mind, soul, body, and spirit we are separated from God and become sensual having not the Spirit of God. Why do we need to be allergic to the world? In the process we could lose our soul even after serving God a life time.
Not being allergic to the world and sin cause us to not to prove our works and have rejoicing in our self but in others. We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good work which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. We cannot walk the walk of sin because we cause divisions and contention in the body of Christ and in the world. No man can serve two masters either we will serve God or Satan but not both. Paul said in Romans 16:17-18 now I beseech you, brethren mark them which cause divisions and offences, contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. We are not our own but we belong to Christ and must be wise concerning the things of God. All that God is is good but Satan; evil.
When we become allergic to the world we gain wisdom and happy are we when we walk over sin and become over comers through Christ Jesus. We are considering our latter end for we understand that there are things we are not to touch or speak on.
We seek for the presence of the Lord the more and desire Him to come in and reign. When we are allergic we realize and become aware that there are things that we cannot consume or be around and it’s the same with the spiritual. These reactions make us wise and awake us to the fact that it is not good for us. A wise man will hear, and increase learning and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsel.
We are to fear the Lord to the point where we want do even the things we want to do. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction. If we don’t learn from our experiences we are like a fool that returns to sin again and again and tempt the Lord. Being allergic to stuff or things cause us to apply the knowledge we have learned naturally to the spiritual that we understand God. It makes us incline our senses to increase learning. We learn how to go through the terrains of things detrimental to us and continue to live. When we have good understanding we do better and we don’t despise the teaching, wisdom and instruction.
What we need to put away we put it away. We walk away if we need to. We put God first and will not forsake Him because we understand that our living is important to God. How we live and what we come in contact with on this journey as we transition from earth to glory is very important with God. It’s as simple as living and dying. If we don’t forsake God in any area of Christian life He will preserve our lives for his specific use. When we have awake to Christ we no longer sleep in the pits of sin for we no longer desire to walk therein for it is detrimental to our souls. We need to be allergic to the world that we are not tripped up time and time again by the enemy of our souls. We are of God and come to know the more of him as we put on righteousness and pull off sin. We come to know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
We are the children of God and we don’t know when He will call us but we know that if we prepare our hearts after him one day we will see him face to face. We will see him as he is and we will be like Him.
