Sunday 2/3/13 Pastor Michael sermon The Blessed Life-It’s About Time..tick-tock…tick-tock It’s My Season Genesis 26:1-6, 12-14
===================================================================================================================================================================
We all have to make choices in the circumstances we’ve been given. We must seize every opportunity and make the most of the time we have been given. We all have 12 months, 365 days in a year. We each get the same amount of time to accomplish what we can in the earth. We should all take advantage of the time we have been given. Some of us do and some of us don’t. It is what we do with the time we have been given that’s quality.
Ecclesiastes 3:18 Time-to everything there is a season. It is important to understand that we have seasons in time that are pre-determined by God. In the text, it is Isaac’s season to be blessed. When God has promised something to us and it has not happened yet, what do we do?
1) It is Not Just About Us, It’s Generational:
It‘s about prior generations and future generations to come after us. It is more than just about me. We must think about the generations to come.
2) Stay in Our Place:
God told Isaac not to go to Egypt. Egypt represents the world, the pagan way. We must not go to the other side no matter how green the grass may look. God is telling us to stay in the place He has us. The Blessed Place. Verse 1: God told him to stay in the land and He will bless Isaac and his children. Even though there is famine in the promise land, God will bless us anyway. Stay! Don’t move, don’t run away! Stay! Stay because God will bless us based on the promise He gave us and our parents before us.
Stay in Anticipation! It’s time to Stay! If God says I’m blessed, I’m blessed! No manifestation yet but I’m staying and I’m blessed. I’m going to act like I’m blessed! You don’t see it…doesn’t matter! God said it then I’m blessed! Your blessing is not based on geography but it’s based on God and being in the right place. The Blessed Place! Stay! Stay! Stay!
Some people are running to Egypt just because that’s where everyone else is going. We’ve got to stay in the blessed place that God has for us. What is a blessed place for others may not be a blessed place for us. Stay in the place that God told us to stay! Wherever our famine place is, God has us there because He is teaching us something. It is in the famine places that we learn to trust God and to walk by faith, not by sight.
3) Initiate the Process of God’s Blessing:
Prepare yourself for the blessing, for a shift in the season. Prepare to do what God says, re-play God’s promises to us. Call those things that be not as though they are. Do what God says in time he says. Then God will step in our time and change our season. We started out broke but ended up in a wealthy state. Be faithful and obedient to prepare for Him. God will step in and take our broke self and make us a rich person. God will take our no-job-in-two-years self and make us the CEO of a corporation. Our season is getting ready to change! Getting ready to turn around! Change our season! God specializes in the things we call impossible! God is turning things around! If you believe you are blessed then turn around three times! Our season is getting ready to change!
4) Stay in the Plan of Blessing:
Isaac sowed with the little he had into the dry ground and he reaped in the same year a hundred fold. Don’t wait until the conditions get better. Sow now! Don’t wait until the manifestation comes. God’s word says where we sow, we reap. No matter how broke we are, release something in faith. Whatever we have release it, so God can bless it. God promised us a blessing. Trust God and don’t worry about today. Trust God and sow. Isaac trusted God and he reaped a harvest in the same year. Isaac became a wealthy man during a famine in the land! He produced one hundred times more than what he sowed! 100 times over what he sowed in Faith!
We, in our mess, need to release what we have and look for God to bless us in our famine land. As Isaac was sowing, God skipped over everybody else and blessed Isaac’s harvest. We need to understand our season is changing. We need to release our seed and God will change our season. Our next season is in our seed. Release our seed and change our season!!
