"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 (NKJV) What an awesome God we serve! Two thousand years ago, He came to earth in the form of Jesus Christ to save us. He was beaten, spit on, cursed, scourged, and hung on a cross (the ultimate shame in those times) to pay the penalty for our sins...even the ones we'll commit tomorrow! He defeated sin and death, and for those of us who choose Him as our Lord and Savior, He has prepared a place for us in heaven and we will get to spend eternity in paradise! John 14:2-3 puts it this way, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." The day we accepted Christ, we were written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and a mansion has been prepared for our arrival in heaven! Unfortunately, much of the world seems to be turning from our Savior to other "worldly" things and the Bible is clear as to what the penalty is for this behavior as well. These lost souls have not been written into the Book of Life, and as Revelation 20:15 states: "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like a place I want to vacation, let alone spend eternity. I once read a sign that stated, "Eternity is a long time to be wrong!" How true that is when it comes to our salvation! For those of us who have been born again, we know for certain that our place in heaven is firmly established. That doesn't mean we don't still stumble and miss the mark (sin), but rather that we have been forgiven and redeemed by Jesus' precious blood. Do you know the date and time you were born again? Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Have you repented for your sins and asked for forgiveness? If you can answer yes to these three questions, your place in heaven is built and awaiting your arrival. If not, I pray you will not waste another day...ask Christ into your heart, ask Him to forgive your sins, and accept the spiritual re-birth and new, wonderful life He has planned for you. In Jesus' own words, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life." (John 6:47 NKJV) Amen!
