The Folly of Trusting in Man
Isaiah 31:1-3 woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord! Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words; but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. Now the Egyptians are men and not God; and their horses flesh and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fall together.
We are living in the time of the prophets. We have forgotten that we are a product of the blessings of Christ’s kingdom. Either we are alive forever with Christ or we are dead while we yet live. Isaiah prophesied of Christ coming and rule in the earth. He prophesied of the reign of righteousness that Jesus would come and set up in the earth that would bring glory back to the Father once again. If man turn away from God they turn again to the bondage they once escaped from. We revolt against God, His Word, and Spirit. In that day every man shall turn to his own way and think it is right. Anything that goes against the Word of God is sin. When we take our eyes off of God we will find ourselves in a state of annoyance, uneasiness, trouble, displeasure, and embarrassment. Our state of affairs will be in confusion, detached from reality, and separated from God. The womb once connected to bring forth life will be cut and disengaged by the seed of sin.
America we are living in that time now. Anything doesn’t go. We started out with Jesus and if we turn now we will be a nation in chaos. God cannot be brought and the conversation of such a sale must be dismantled. We have condescended too low to please man and must undo what has been done. The nation that will hold the values of God will rule. We must be first rate, prime choice in Holiness and Sanctification, of an excellent Spirit, selective in our Christianity, exceptional in our belief, and the best at working out our own soul salvation. Are we perfect? No, but we better trust in God rather than man.
Who is that wise man? A wise man seeks Jesus. It was not in Jesus’ plan to set forth a complete system of morals, but rather by His character and personality to create an ethical standard. Jesus emulated, imitated the first order of man equal and in competition to their first order set by God himself in the Creation. Man was to follow and obey all that God had told them which was simple; just obey, be who I created and made you to be and reproduce in the earth. God wanted to reproduce who He was in the earth. He wanted man to be that created spirit being in the flesh pure and holy as God had made him. Adam and Eve were never to know that they were flesh. When they knew they were flesh, God knew they had failed the test of obedience. They knew too and ran and hid from God. Many are hiding today behind laws that okay their disobedience but God forbid. That wise man is one that emulates the morals Jesus died for. He has ethics, is humane, respectable, decent, honest, and noble. He is full of integrity and honor before God; not man.
The folly of trusting in man is this: that after we would have followed their lead we have the consequences that come after. After we would have imitated their lead and conformed to their ways we have to observe that God is taking heed to our acts and doings outside of his will. When we regard man rather than God we will comply with things contrary to the truth of God. We comprehend what we want and catch a bad apple before we comprehend and realize that it’s full of worms that can eat us alive. Now we have results that we don’t know how to deal with. It’s okay to stand up and be counted for God. Trusting man rather than God will bring evil to us, a nation as a whole. Sin is over exaggerated, distorted, and pronounced in America, a nation under duress. Sin is prevalent, widespread, prevailing and common. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Sin is securely fixed, authenticated and confirmed to be alright amongst sinners. Lord I pray, have; mercy on America.
The President of the United States of America is an executive office held by a man. The judicial branch of government is held by man. The legislative branch of government is held by man. No matter the laws they set conducive to the flesh of men, God is still God and not a man. So who are we going to obey; God or man? These offices set by the founding fathers was not set to succumb under the pressure of the people, but to insure man uphold the laws of God. The Devil has put on the squeeze and man has given in to the coercion and compromised the morals of God. Have mercy Lord. What’s to stop God from destroying this country like he did Sodom and Gomorrah? What’s there to impede his wrath? Why have we frustrated the purpose of God and obstructed his justice? God still wants to have mercy upon us in spite of man’s folly. Repent today.
We as a people are trusting in that which is not Spirit. We trust in stuff and things. We trust in possessions rather than the one that gives us all things. Christians are we helping the cause? Are we giving man a reason to sin? Are we upholding the blood stained banner of Jesus Christ? Are we standing in the way of sinners? Are we walking in the counsel of the ungodly? Do we too have lying lips and a deceitful tongue? Do we use the blessings of Christ’s kingdom for our own purposes? Behold Christ shall reign in righteousness and princes shall rule in judgment and a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. The eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of those that stutter shall be ready to speak plainly.
The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful. We live in a time where the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. The instruments also of the churl are evil; he devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speak right. The liberal soul shall be made fat. It’s time we feed our souls instead of our flesh. We in America eat too much. We are fat but not on the Word of God. We need the Spirit poured out fresh on us again from on high. We need the Spirit of God to be true in our hearts again that the wilderness within us be a fruitful field again and be counted for as a forest of righteousness that will remain fruitful.
The folly of trusting in man has caused the work of righteousness to not be at peace making the effect war instead of quietness and assurance forever. But when God shows up woe be to the watchman that has allowed these things to persevere over the Word of God. Judgment shall be pronounced and they will not go unpunished. Sure man has a right to choose righteousness from the beginning and they failed. Because of their ignorance to Satan’s devices was not an excuse. They were told to obey God like we are today. Obey and live, disobey, face the judgment and die. In God we live, move, and have our being so it is better to obey God than trust in the folly of man. If we fall out of God we fall into sin. If we fall into sin we drop down in hell. Hell is real and has enlarged itself with all those that seek to disobey God. It’s your right to choose today whom you will serve. Who you serve today will be who you serve tomorrow for eternity.
