Fulfill Your Obedience To God
How do we get there? Jesus went and we have to go also from the Cross to the Throne. How do we offer oblation to God? Oblation is the act of offering the Eucharistic elements to God in worship or devotion. It is a holy gift of our love and obedience to Him at the altar of our hearts. We are bonded morally and committed spiritually to offer such to God as Father of all mankind. A short obituary will be given of our earthly life, but a book of life will be opened when we see God face to face at the gate of Heaven. But first we have to get there; what will it take?
Obedience is an ecclesiastical dominion that God alone has dominion over in the life of man. We are required by our Creator to obey; follow the commands or guidance of God where we conform to His Word and comply in obedient behavior to Him. To be obedient mean we are in submission to the restraints or command of authority of the Word. Not only that but that we are willing to obey and is in compliance with the demands or requests of our God who is in control and gives us guidance. We have a character that permits easy handling or managing as led by the Spirit of God. We are willing to yield and cooperate with the Spirit and Word because of a desire to please the Father. These are the steps Jesus took in fulfilling his obedience to God the Father; by allowing himself to be Spirit led and controlled all the way to the Cross, through death and hell, resurrection and ascension into heaven where he sits on the right hand of the throne of God.
II Corinthians 10:5-10 casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. Do you look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s. For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed; that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters. For his letters, say they are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.
Cast down what you see or think, accept the Word even if it’s an unsaved person speaking it. The Devil uses the Word as least a part of it to deceive us. If a unsaved man says we are to thank God for his unspeakable gift and we know it’s the Word in II Corinthians 9:15 we are to accept it. If we don’t know it is and he is thanking God, thank God that he know who it is he is to thank; pray for his salvation. Take advantage of the opportunity to pray, it is the will of God. Don’t look at them but hear the Word. Come in obedience to the Word.
Cast down man that exalts himself above God; those that think they know more than God; speaking highly of themselves. Rebuke those that think they are right all the time and others are always wrong. Who can tell what God will do or who He will use; after all He can use a donkey to speak that don’t speak. Watch those thoughts that try to enter the psyche that don’t line up with the Word from others. Don’t be all spiritual and no human thinking. Watch them dogs. Take time to fulfill all of the life Christ has afforded us. He taught, preached, edified, delivered, sanctified, went to weddings, went into the streets on street corners among winebibbers, took boat rides, rested even in the storm, laughed and spent time with family (both natural and spiritual).
Even our thoughts have to be holy whether they be natural or not they are to be brought into the obedience of God’s Word. We render our though process to the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is of God and covers all segments of natural thought. He knows what to keep and what to cast out of the mind. He is the mind of God. Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus Philippians 2:5. It’s an inside job working to the outside to bring all things in subjection to God’s Word, Will, and Way. It brings us to God’s obedience. The outside can fool man but God knows the inner man also He is not fooled. Man’s looks can deceive; dressed up and look the part but full of dead man bones waiting to continue their deception.
When we fulfill our obedience to God it is his obedience we follow after to know. Babies learn to obey life’s natural things as a child growing up so must we in spiritual things when we come to God. Jesus learned from his earthly parents and obeyed but when it came time to fulfill his obedience to the Father he left the family being found in the Temple teaching as a young lad. God’s call for obedience is even to the young as well as the old. We grow throughout our lives in some point or another. When we stop growing we become a retard, deaf, dumb or crazy and we begin to exalt ourselves rather than God.
We can’t be ready to avenge disobedience in this state. We begin to look over disobedience thereby not dealing with it properly as God’s people. That means we are more important than God; when we see evil or sin we are to pray against it not just accept it as okay. Do we become belligerent with the person; no but we can pray in the closet of our hearts and mind. God calls us to speak against sin whether it be the Bishop down to the lay member in the church that’s broke and disgusted. We are to be in a position ourselves of sinning less and less so we can revenge all disobedience. Our obedience must be fulfilled that we are always in position to bring correction to sin.
How can we judge one another to be in Christ or not? We are to exhort one another to continue the work, get things right and be restored. All of us is without fault in our own eyes, but Christ found out that we are full of fault that’s why we needed redemption. That is why we needed that final payment for sin. That’s why the blood was shed. That’s why the brutal death. That’s why the feelings of loneliness. That’s why the thirst. We must give up everything in this world to go to the Throne of God; the fleeting flesh that’s swift to rise up. It’s transient, it changes in a moment’s notice. The flesh briefly transition from its state and releases what is really important; the soul it houses. We carry God’s Spirit that transcends the living soul in us back to the Creator.
The work of Jesus on the Cross showed forth the weakness of the flesh. The flesh is the turpitude. It has depravities, baseness, it’s subject to perversion, vileness, it’s evil, full of sinfulness and corruption. We too have to overcome the flesh and its works. The works are truculent, fierce, mean, malevolent, pugnacious, belligerent, contentious, and hostile. Most flesh cannot be real, true, genuine, truthful, undistorted, authentic, just, honest, faithful or reliable. We cannot trust the flesh. Why put confidence or faith in the flesh that cannot obey God? We have to do as Jesus did; rely on a higher power that we can put faith in, depend on and journey from earth to glory.
It is a travesty for us to trust in the treacherous flesh so full of tumult and disorder. We must endeavor and strive in our trying to test and examine ourselves to see if we are of Christ or not. We cannot be tricked into thinking that we are okay and we are not. This is why we are not to look on things after the outward appearance. Because we are in Christ don’t mean we can boast of the authority Christ has invested in us unless it us for edification of Him. We are not to use it for the destruction of our brothers and sisters.
We should not be ashamed to provoke men to fulfill God’s obedience. It is premature Christians that think the Word is untimely for any situation that God wants to bring change to. We are supposed to be irritating and aggravating to the sinner and even each other that find ourselves in sin. We are to stir up the sin until it loose the hold it has on man. Jesus incited riots among the Christian world of his day and aroused the sinner to desire God again. We are to use the gifts of God to man and produce men into saved, sanctified Christians after God’s own heart. This work has an invaluable harvest to it.
Heaven is come down today and we see Jesus as He is, Christ that lived, died on the Cross, buried as a man, a resurrected Spirit, ascended up to Heaven and sitting on the right hand of the Father. We saw the weakness of his flesh as we see the weakness the people saw in Paul at the point of incarceration he was in. But his position was not to be taken as a point of weakness; for he was not incarcerated in his mind. He carried with him in the prison the mind of Christ and getting the work done one way or another. He could not be there so he sent letters to the Preachers he left in charge. The people got the message of Christ that Paul edified them to believe and they received Christ, was water baptized and Holy Ghost filled.
Heaven has come today and we can also accept God’s Sanctification and Holiness through Christ Jesus and be saved. We can have God’s peace right now and live free of sin. We can fulfill our obedience to God in this present time right now. See Jesus’ work as it was finished on the Cross and seek to the Throne. There is further than the Cross; Jesus showed us that we are to be resurrected and born again of the Spirit and filled with the Holy Ghost that will help us in our walk through this period from the Cross to the Throne. We will come to the Throne one day but first there must be a willing mind to accept that which we cannot see. Jesus’ person must be approved in your life, the works of His hands, and we must deny wickedness and the wicked one.
The Saints approve of the step you have taken today; they had to make the same step one day and are here to help you. Now is the approved time to be approved of God. Make yourself worthy today; come to Jesus. He will take you from the Cross to the Throne.
