Poetry
Search me, O God, and know my heart today.
Take away my shame.
Revive a right spirit within me.
Help me to focus on your will and not on what I think is right.
I focus on the wrong and do not focus on you, my Father.
Forgive this selfish heart and make it new, thrilling at the sound of your holy name.
How mighty are you! How wonderous are your works!
I am unworthy to be called your child except for Jesus' redeeming work on the Cross.
I am washed in his blood, made whole and clean before you.
Help me to live pointing others to your forgiveness.
Pull me out of this sin.
Search me, dear Father, and give me understanding of who you really are.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made from your design for your purpose.
I am your servant having gained your unmerited grace.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life.
You know my wickedness, yet you call me your child.
You call me by my name.
And your steadfast love endures forever.
I know you will not forsake the work of your hands.
