If God Says It, It Is So
What do we mean if God said it? Do we not always say what God says? If we say God said it why don’t we believe it? Why don’t we stand on the Word? If God says it, it is so! Why are we so shaken at the Word if we say we love God? Why is it so hard to believe the Word? Stop asking questions and just obey what the Word says. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made. In him was life and the life was the light of men.
God said He was sending a messenger to prepare the way for us, He did that. He sent His Son! God still send Messengers today and there are still false messengers yet today as it was in Jesus day.
Malachi 3:1behold I will send my messenger and he shall prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
God did what He said, He sent Jesus in the likeness of sinful flesh (St. John 1:14 and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth). He was in the world and the world was made by him and the world knew him not. It’s time to get to really know who God really is, what He have said and obey all that He has said. Why do HE come to us day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year and we still don’t receive all of Him? Well He came to His own and they received Him not either. The Devil knows that in the day we began to receive Him and believe on His name, we will be given power to become the sons of God. Not a born son starting over in the natural but being born again after the Order of God, spiritually.
If God says it, it is so. God said He would send a messenger and He did. He sent us the Christ born of a woman and called His name Jesus. When God gave Malachi this message many Prophets had come and gone. Malachi stood at one of the most significant dividing points in history. The culture as today did not bear the impress (mark, imprint, stamp, effect, response, reaction, or opinion) of their labors. The people as today did what they wanted to do, not what God said that they should do. The priests were corrupt then too and the people were no better, but God was still on the throne, sovereign. God was the Father, the Master, a great King, the heavenly Governor, the giver of Covenants and Commandments.
As the God of judgment, He brought about the doom of Edom (the name given to Esau in memory of his having sold his birthright for red pottage to his twin brother Jacob). We yet are selling God out for a piece of meat. His curse was upon the unfaithful priests then and all of the disobedient stewards that had robbed him of their own substance. Not only were they cursed but God would cut off those who intermarried with the heathen. There would be swift judgment. The day of the Lord would consume the wicked after they would have been offered salvation and denied it.
God being a God of grace would yet bless the faithful remnant for a story of grace lay behind his love for Jacob, His covenant with Levi, His forbearance with the sons of Jacob, His offer to those who had been faithful stewards, the book of remembrance, the rising of the sun of righteousness and the promise coming of Elijah. Malachi said the day of the Lord was coming. It will be a glorious day for the righteous, but a day of destruction for the wicked. Yet between the lines can be read these words of grace; turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel (Ezekiel 33:11).
God said it and He delivered! He sent his Son to show his undeniable love for us as He did for Israel. There had been so many unacceptable sacrifices, corrupt offerings by corrupt priests and many obligations that had not been kept. The priests neglected the Covenant, husbands were untrue and there was much rebuke for idolatry and divorce. Many then as we do today think that there will be no judgment, as we do what we want to do. The coming of the Lord is just as sure today as it was in Malachi’s day. Christ came as a man, He was named Jesus, He died but rose again, took the sting out of death, and was resurrected. He is coming back again.
The question is asked today; who may abide (continue steadfastly, await, remain, stay, endure) the day of his coming? Who shall stand (their position, belief, and opinion) when he appears? We are treading on thin ice as Christians today. Will we abide? Will we stand? God said we should abide every one of us in His place. We are to stay the course for He is our true friend. We cannot be a friend of the world and tell them what thus says the Lord. We cannot be carried away with the world; we tell them what thus says the Lord and let them choose at that day who they will serve. We cannot get caught up in what the world is doing, just do what the Word says do. At this point we are caught up between what is right and what is wrong and right always win when it comes to the soul of man. David said that we shall abide in God with clean hands and a pure heart. We still need clean hands and a pure heart. He said we should abide under the shadow of the almighty, it still works today! David went through some stuff but he got himself together, he grew out of himself and got back in right relationship with God.
As Christians we must stand on the standards God set forth in His Holy Word for us to follow. We must stand steadfast in our decision to love and serve God. We must persevere the storms and remain stable in our convictions. James 1:25 but whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. He that endures to the end, the same shall be saved. We must abide in the same calling wherein we have been called. Don’t desire positions that God has not called us to. Man gives positions but God gives promotions. Wait on your promotion from God and we will not error or get weary in well doing. Stand fast and hold the traditions which we have been taught. Holiness is right. It is the Lord that is faithful to us to establish us and keep us from evil.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. We don’t want to be tossed and sea driven like the waves of the sea. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. We don’t want to be bothered with people that don’t know where they are going, what do we think about God then? Man today seem to have eyes full of adultery and can’t cease from sin. Many have caused others to walk out into sin by their own acts of deception. Adam walked out from under the covering of God giving his obeisance to his wife. Many have departed from God willingly rather to follow another man than obey God. We have been beguiled and caused many souls to be unstable.
It’s time to wake up man, wake up woman! If God says it, it is so! Revelation 22:11 and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holy still. God is looking at our character rather it is lined up with His Word or not. We will stand before God one day. I learned on last night in Bible Study that Revelation 20:12 says that when we stand before God the books containing the works of man and another book, the book of life will be opened. If we die in Christ we will go to heaven and if not in hell we will lift up our eyes. The Pastor then asked the question “who all want to go to hell”?
There is a heavenly Jerusalem that the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb will come and be the temple of and the glory of God will light it and the Lamb is the light. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. Do you want to go to that place in Christ that will bring you to this prepared place God has for us? If God says it, it is so! Believe today and live, reject him and we are dead while we yet live. We are the living walking dead while we live if we don’t receive what God says. It’s a choice we all have to make; do it God’s way or hell awaits us.
Malachi 3:1 told us that the day of the Lord was coming and He did come. He said he would come like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. He sat as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he came to purify the sons of Levi as well as us today to purge us as gold and silver that we too may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness that would be pleasant to the Lord. He came with judgment in his hands and as a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right and fear not me said the Lord of hosts.
The Lord has come and is coming again! He has prepared that place for us.
God is immutable, He changes not. He still gives us a chance that we be not consumed with the fires of hell. He is still saying return unto me man, woman, and child. Be ye not deceived, God is not mocked; whatsoever a man sows that same thing shall he also reap. Man loves this flesh we live in but if we sow to the flesh, we of the flesh shall reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Do it God’s way and we can’t lose. If God said it believe it, if God said it receive it in love and reap love everlasting. God bless!
