Jesus includes Zacchaeus
Kelly was often bullied as a teen because she was very shy. As a result of being bullied she often felt she did not belong. Until she accepted Christ, and he began to work on her image of herself. Kelly eventually learned that God loved and accepted her in Christ and she became a confident lady. However, the story of Zacchaeus is a good reminder that Jesus often gravitated towards people that others forgot about.
Luke 19:1-10 You know the story of Zacchaeus, scripture says he was short in stature. He knew Jesus was coming by his way, and he couldn’t see him because he was too short. So he climbed a tree to see Jesus. However, Jesus did not overlook him Jesus told him he was going to come to his house that day. I think verse 7 is interesting, vs.7 and when they saw it, they murmured, saying, that he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. First it shows that those in the crowd were self-righteous, they thought he was a sinner, but not themselves. It also shows that Jesus often spent time with those that others did not want to be with for whatever reason. One of the reasons people probably did not like Zaccaeus was that he was a publican which meant he collected taxes. The point here is that Jesus made Zacchaeus feel he was worth Jesus time, when he went to his house that day. Scripture says that salvation came to his house that day and Zaccaeus told Jesus he was going to pay back the money four-fold to people. Jesus showed his love for a man that was probably not well liked. Jesus often spent time with people that others would not associate with.
Isn’t it nice to know that Jesus accepts us when we belong to him
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might me made the righteousness of God in him
It’s the righteousness he gives us that makes us accepted, God sees us through the blood of Christ
Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
LORD, thanks for accepting me in your son Jesus, amen
