DO NOT TOUCH!
The Bible says in Psalm 105:15 (NIV), "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm." The Hebrew word for touch is naga. Naga is defined as hurt, harm, attack, kill, or destroy. This touching in this verse is referring to physical force. The Lord says, do not hurt, harm, attack, kill, or destroy. The kings and the prophets were anointed with oil and consecrated to God. God’s anointed and his chosen people were vessels of God, they heard from God, and they spoke what “thus saith the Lord.” Even though, in 1 Samuel chapters 24 and 26, David was running from Saul and he had many opportunities to touch or harm Saul. David respected Saul’s position. David also told his men not to harm Saul!
I believe that touching God’s anointed/chosen people refers to another force, the force of the mouth! The evil, wicked, crooked mouth that slanders, backbites, curses, and lies. All of these evil weapons touch not physically, but our mind, will, and emotions. The sinners as well as the Body of Christ are guilty of touching God’s people. Who? We are neighbors, members of the same church, work at the same place, even our kids go to the same school. What I am addressing is not the humorous roasting or teasing but malicious, ugly evil talk with the intent to destroy! We are the Body of Christ according to 1 Corinthians 12:27. Remember who you are and who you belong to. Do not go around talking like a sinner, about the anointed, chosen people of God. (Ephesians 4:29) (WE) say, “Do not let any bad words come out of your mouth. But say good things that will help people. Then those who hear you will also be blessed by what you say. Let our speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt.” How can we stop this displaying this ungodly character? The Holy Spirit will help us abstain from the urge to criticize, complain, slander, because these are weapons of destruction from the enemy that kill, steal, and destroy. Another way in which we touch is by the evil eyes, evil wishes, and body language. That certain look is evil. The evil eyes, the body language SPEAKS! It shows your dark side a side of you which lets Satan influence and control you. The Word says, you are the Body of Christ and Satan has NO power over you! Body of Christ take control of yourself. Take control of the things you say (James 3:9-10). Remember the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Do not give in to the devil, resist him. You know that your look is evil. You know that your body language is ugly. All of this is a display of your heart, your thoughts. How do you think? Like a sinner or a believer? Evil thoughts (not discernment), lead to having a spirit of the flesh. This results in you speaking ill-will, desiring ill- will to come upon the anointed, chosen people of God. Now, this is really bad. Are people really like this? Yes? The Bible says in (Colossians 3:8 WYC) But now put ye away all things, wrath, indignation, malice, blasphemy and foul words of your mouth. [But now and ye put away all things, wrath, indignation, malice, blasphemy, foul word of your mouth.] Let us pray for one another and love one another! Let us put away these evil weapons (ungodly character defects) from our lives so we can be free to do the work of the Lord.
Let us speak life! Remember Jesus said… The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment (WOE!). (Matthew12:35, 35).
Heavenly Father, we repent of anytime we have displayed any ungodly character defects. Forgive us of our sins. Thank you for increasing our love for one another and fill us with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
