Poetry
Last night, I dreamed I entered
God's holy presence.
His glory was so bright
I bowed in humble reverence.
As my eyes grew accustomed
to the radiance surrounding me,
I peeked into His throne room
with curiousity.
I spied a banquet table
with settings so divine.
Eternity reset my heart
and I lost all sense of time.
Jesus took me by the hand
and led me to my seat.
And per His sovereign plan
He bowed to wash my feet.
I snacked on love and mercy,
seasoned with His grace.
So wonderful was each bite,
nothing went to waste.
His peaceful rest,
topped with purity and love,
Satisfied my hunger
with gifts sent from above.
As I surveyed the banquet table
I noticed something odd.
Before me, a place card
engraved by the hand of God.
Upon it my name was written,
with tenderness and care.
Yet, on the other place cards,
no names were written there.
I asked, "How could this happen?
At this table, why only me?"
Then, with love and patience,
Jesus helped my eyes to see.
He said, "I asked you to invite them,
the ones who would have come.
But you had better things to do,
all in the name of fun.
I said that I would help you,
you wouldn't be alone.
But your pride believed
you could do it on your own.
Can you see them in the streets
They struggle to be free?
Tell me, when they look at you,
is it Jesus that they see?
Go now my child and invite them,
all who have ears to hear.
Tell them a glorious celebration
is drawing very near."
Then He sent me on my way,
with place cards in my hands.
Each card prepared in advance,
according to His plan.
He said, "On these cards,
their names will be engraved.
All I ask is that you tell them
how they can be saved."
