Encouragement
Ps 73:2 But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.
Amazing how the spirit is stirred ….
How noticeable is the ‘peaceful, calming wash’ that seems to be poured over you …
It turned my attention to space … the distance, the vastness.
In my case specifically:
The physical space between the woman I love and myself as she is miles away;
The relational space between my teenage son and myself;
The empty space between God and ourselves …
The physical space can play with your mind … as desires and wants can easily come to the forefront. Things like patience, endurance, trust and honor are tested … and if we don’t remain focused on God for the help through we open the door for Satan’s tampering and doubt creeps in, making the space now more than just physical, but emotional. Lost in love.
The relational space can also play with your mind. As a parent, we think we know what’s best for our children … when in fact, only He knows what’s in store for your child. We are still called to create boundaries and discipline … but more importantly to create a relationship with our children as God has with his, us. Having a teenager, there is a noticeable space between parent and child ... the space between the choices made by the child which normally then dictate the choices we as parents GET to make. Things like patience, endurance, trust and honor are tested … seemingly familiar. Loss of mind.
The empty space is the space that we create based on our controlling ways (playing God) … our willingness to engage into wrongdoing (sin) … things that God cannot be put in front of. I created about 15 years of space between God and myself … one bad choice after another, giving Satan a large space in which to operate in my life. A place where we simply get lost.
What to do with your ‘space’. Regardless of the type of space, no matter how lost we may be … He can always find us.
Ultimately, regardless of the circumstance or space involved … they each offer an opportunity to fill the space … with what is completely up to you.
Since the garden, we’ve had two choices … God, or Satan.
I have walked on the ‘wild side’ for many years, with God for a much shorter time … no comparison between the two.
With Satan, your ‘space’ is filled with anger, angst, stress, depression, uncertainty, darkness, despair … and many get hurt along the way.
With God, you will find peace, hope, joy, light, calm … purpose for life … again, by my experience, there’s no comparison.
It has been written;
Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."
&
Luke 16:13 - "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."
So important, it was mentioned two times … and although they both reference money as the other master, let’s call it your focus. For me, whether its money, my son, the woman I love or the run-of-the-mill daily circumstance … if that’s where my focus is, the probability of loss is massive. If I remain focused and apply God First … I get closer to love, closer to my son and most importantly … closer to God.
They dash between our birth and day of homecoming represents your 'space' ... which is your life. How did you choose to fill this space? What story does your 'space' tell? What did you leave behind for others to remember you by?
No matter how lost you may become ... you can always be found. Your story can always change and with God as your center ... Christ in your heart ... a happy ending is waiting for you.
Luke 15:4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

I really liked how you got your point across. The examples you used are ones many of us can relate to. My only suggestion would be to not have as many ellipses as it was a tad distracting. But other than that you're piece was beautiful and read like a piece of poetry. You did a beautiful job with this. Keep writing!
