Poetry
The tabernacle Moses built
Showed shadows from above,
To Israel bore testament
Of God’s justice, grace and love.
The veil hid God from sinful hearts—
Never man could venture in—
His holiness kept them apart;
God could not look on sin.
But yearly on atonement day
When the high priest went inside
With blood which would their guilt defray,
To the mercy seat applied.
Through sprinkled blood the priest complied
With all Moses’ law decreed—
Prefigured One long prophesied—
The woman’s Promised Seed.
Then veiled in human flesh He came,
Each shadow to fulfil—
The Son here in His Father’s name
Would perfect His Father’s will.
Not with the blood of bulls and rams
Was atonement rightly made,
But now had come God’s spotless Lamb—
Brilliant Light dispersed the shade.
The temple veil asunder torn
When He died upon the cross—
For this was the Redeemer born
To make a way for us.
His death the veil rent clean apart;
Now man can enter in—
Christ tabernacles in the hearts
Of all who trust in Him.
By faith we come where once the veil
Obscured God’s face from men,
For Christ our High Priest has prevailed—
Let us boldly enter in!

All the verses are great. I singled this one out, because it reveals the truth that we can now go straight to God, Himself. God bless.
