Poetry
"Jesus has always many who love His heavenly kingdom, but few who bear His cross. He has many who desire consolation, but few who care for trial. He finds many to share His table, but few to take part in His fasting. All desire to be happy with Him; few wish to suffer anything for Him."* "You complain about your suffering," he seems to say, "but remember Jesus' suffering for you. Will you not suffer for him?"—
“they were awestruck by the LORD'S great power and they offered him a sacrifice and vowed to serve him.” (Jonah 1:16)
There is no other God but me, a righteous God and Saviour. There is none but me. Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other. I have sworn by my own name; ... Every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess allegiance to me. (Isaiah 45:21-23)
God is ‘mighty to save’
Elohim is the SUPREME RULER
Who dares to oppose Him?
Saints must believe He can
He can do that thing that we want Him to do
No need is too great for God to supply
He can subdue all things
No misery is too deep for God to relieve
Saints must believe He can
He loves man and He wants all to be saved
There is infinitely more power in God than he has ever displayed
Therefore, the next time we have a problem let us
Rejoice in our Lord because we understand this principle!
In the banner of POSITIVITY
There is also the reality of NEGATIVITY—
In I Timothy 1:19 there is a vivid illustration of apostasy—an apostate Makes shipwreck of his faith in God—
Having escaped the world, he returns to it and
Soon finds himself on the rocks, being
Beaten to death by the waves of life—
A person does not apostatize in one giant leap—Just as the Israelites Obtained the Promised Land step by step,
So apostasy occurs step by step—
One goes forward—the other backward
“they were awestruck by the LORD'S great power and they offered him a sacrifice and vowed to serve him.” (Jonah 1:16)
We must keep on keeping on
Apostasy is simply the renunciation of the truths of the gospel
However, power belongs to God the FATHER
It is His expressed will to show us how to live in His Kingdom
We have HIS POWER to resist deception [apostasy]
