Remember Thy Creator
Rejoice In Thy Salvation
As I penned this story a startling thing came to my remembrance. I had been trying for months to remember something that had happened in my life on last year. As I recollected the incident, I realize that it was drug induced. When I checked with a source I realized that yes it did happen but I was drugged. Never in my life have I been made to submit to sin. If I did wrong it was of my own volition. The drug ecstasy is actually named Estrace, a vulvar/vaginal atrophy and is used for the prevention of osteoporosis, ovarian failure, and menopause. God showed me it was put under my tongue while I was already in a deep sleep from pain medication and muscle relaxants. I was taken advantage of and could not be sure if something had happened. I was told that I was dreaming. God, have mercy. We have to be so careful about how we allow people in our midst without us knowing what their real motives are. Our motives and intents may be right but someone else’s how can we know if we do not suspect or God does not show us. Remember but forgive also. Remember how the Lord forgave us our transgressions and iniquities. Since we have been saved we have not always walked perfect. Even when we thought a wrong thought or spoke something without the facts, we sinned. This thing that has been imputed to me as sin, is not sin of my own account and I forgive this other person this day. We have to remember to be careful who we take into our bosom, into our homes, and into our everyday life. People have ulterior motives for wanting to be in your presence. I believed this man rather than rely on God for answers. My heart hurts but I was not raped of my salvation. I must continue on in Christ and do the work He has called me to.
Ecclesiastes 12:1; remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh when thou shall say, I have no pleasure in them.
I Samuel 2:1; and Hannah prayed and said, my heart rejoice in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord; my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies, because I rejoice in thy salvation.
What happens when we remember God when we go through transitions in life? We call back to our minds who we are, who God is, and where we are going. When we keep what God has said first and foremost in our minds we can dismiss everything that rises itself up against it. God has His own way of testing man to see their responses. That response determines if He will give us what we want or not. It comes a time that we come out of ourselves and realize when we are in a test. How many times do we have to be deceived before we realize we have been set up. Oh yes, set up. God reminds us that no one can take our salvation and we do not have to give it up. Thank God for our salvation.
Hannah prayed, praised, and worshipped the Lord for what she believed God for. God blessed her with a child (Samuel). I Samuel 1:27-28; for this child I prayed and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there. Hannah was married to Elkanah, but Elkanah had another wife Phinehas who had children for him. Hannah was of a sorrowful spirit and was in bitterness of soul. She poured out her soul before the Lord, she wept sore because Phinehas her adversary provoked her. She made her mad and teased her because she had no children. Although Elkanah thought her having him was enough to make her happy, she was not. Each year they went up to the Temple to make sacrifice before the Lord and Worship Him. Each year Hannah had to deal with Phinehas teasing and provoking. Elkanah loved Hannah and he gave her a worthy portion as compared to the portion he gave to Phinehas and her children.
Hannah wanted a child and Elkanah could not understand her desire. She decided to take it to the Lord, so for the last time she cried and prayed for God’s mercy, His divine favor. She poured out her soul before the Lord, she wept sore. She asked for grace in God’s sight; she vowed a vow to God. She went her way with a happy countenance. She came to God with a right mind and spirit to receive a blessing from Him. Hannah had rose early in the morning looking for a blessing. Its okay to look at what someone has and its okay to desire your own too. Look at what happened when she poured her heart out to God to intervene in her situation. Here comes the priest Eli. Hannah is pouring her soul out to God and he misjudge her worship. He thought she was drunk. He did not discern that Hannah was crying out of her soul for what she wanted from the Lord. How many times are we misjudged in our time of worship and praise! How many times have we been in a service and the leaders told us to be quiet because the leader feels it’s a show, not real or warranted? God always desire the glory and honor. He wants us to praise and worship in our prayer times. We have to pray out of ourselves to hold on to our salvation; sometimes all we have is our praise, prayer and worship. We are to rejoice in our salvation. Hannah remembered her promise to God and she kept her word to God. She brought Samuel to the priest Eli at the Shrine at Shiloh and left him there for God’s use. How many times do we promise God something and have not kept our word? Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. He was established there to be a Prophet of the Lord.
By grace are we saved through faith; not of our own selves. Hannah was saved and she considered Samuel a gift of her salvation; and not a predicate of her salvation. She asked for God’s grace and he showed her His affection through Him having mercy and opening up her womb. God hears us when we earnestly pray and contend for the faith. Through his gracious kindness towards us that he bears in his heart is always on display when we come to him in righteousness. God had purpose for giving her a seed that would bring forth one of the greatest Prophets, Samuel was used of the Lord but no mention is made of God using any of Phinehas‘ children. Because Hannah was the favorite wife of her husband, she suffered the jealousy of Phinehas. Samuel name means name of God. God honors our faith and He blesses us.
What do we find in God that matters to Him? We can only give Him our obedience and our faith. Jehovah Jireh is my provider. If we accept God for who He is and trust Him unconditionally He will in no wise turn us away. God has set us up to be blessed and Satan is robbing us everyday of those blessings because we aren’t always aware of his tactics. Except God reveal something to us and bring things back to our remembrance we are so unaware of Satan’s ploy against us. Never have I been raped of anything that I did not give. I really understand that once we give something or someone to God we cannot change our minds. If we do we have broken a vow and God can only judge us. We have to be so careful about what we vow before God and to man. How desperate are we to get what we want in the flesh? With that same desperation we must seek out God. It’s a matter of life and death. God knows as we do when we want something to happen or not in our lives. We pray as Hannah did for God to come and see about us too. After we have prayed, we must be willing to give that thing back to God and remember to do it. We cannot close our hearts and hands to God after He have blessed us; otherwise we mess the blessing up. God honor our words and expect us to keep them.
We are to come to the Lord as a child, tender, forgiving, innocent, and ready to hear so we can be taught. When we were young it was easy to learn new things without any problem. Now as an adult it is hard to learn new things and keep them in our remembrance. When we are young and innocent we are not afraid of anything. We take on a challenge and run with it without thinking. We just do what we are told to do without question. We do not think that evil can compass us and we indulge in things ignorantly. Well its time to grow up. As adults we have things that happen to us that we have no control of or have a say in the matter. Who would think someone would use drugs to get what they want. After they get it they may find that its not what they want at all. Except God intervene a person’s life can be lost when things happen inside the church that they never expect would happen there. God is not sleep and He brings things to our remembrance when we bother Him about it enough. He reveals things to us when we can take it and not before. Sometimes the things that happen to us wrongfully is what we need to see God in a more significant way. Its all in how we perceive what has happened to us. Do we accept it and trust God to handle it or do we let it go and trust God to help us? It seems as though this past week was one of confessions in my life. As things were called to my remembrance in answer to prayer, I found that what happened I can forgive and rejoice in the Lord. I can still walk in the ways of the heart of God and know that the sorrow can be removed from my heart and put away the evil from my flesh. We want God to get the glory out of our lives, so don’t dwell on the negative things that has happened. What is happening right now is what is important. How we will continue with God is important. How we see Him is important. Remember now thy Creator, He has done everything for you and not brought hurt to you. Ecclesiastes 11:5; as thou knowest not what is the way of the Spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. St. John 3:8; the wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the Spirit. We know not the way we take, we go out by faith and trust God to take care of what we put in His hands. God is not divided and it does not matter who did what or who is who, but what does matter is our salvation.
We are to rejoice in our salvation everyday and put away the contentions from among us. We have been called to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words that makes the cross of Christ none effect; but remembering that it pleases God to save them that believe. We are to speak the Word and the Word will do its perfect work in man. If a man will be saved at all it is with the Word of God. Man may look and say that preaching is foolish because they don’t want to hear and surrender their lives. But God say keep preaching, preach Christ crucified; for it is a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Greek. I Corinthians 1:23-25; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God, because the foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men. We need to rejoice in our salvation; Remember now thy Creator and what He has called us to. God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. And base things of the world and things which are despised, hath God chosen which are not, to bring to nought things that are. He is beyond trying to find Him out. He wants us to remember that no flesh shall glory in His presence. If we are in Christ Jesus who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption then we give God glory that is due Him. We don’t glory in our selves or what happens to us but we testify of how good God was to bring us through it. We still have breath in our body and can praise him for our lives right now. Forget the past, forgive those that have trespassed against us that we too may be forgiven our transgressions rather they are known or not. Sin is sin no matter who did it or committed it against you, don’t let it be your stumbling block and cause you to be judged by God. Remember the things God has revealed to us through His Son and His Spirit. It is the Spirit that search all things especially the deep things of God. His Spirit also know the things of man. Don’t cut God short because of something that happened in your life; He hasn’t done you anything. Remember as David did after he had gotten up from prayer and intercession for the life of his son, who is in control and praise Him regardless of the outcome. If God don’t do anything else for us, remember what He has already done.
Remember now thy Creator, Rejoice in thy salvation. Remember the Word that has already come to you of Jesus Christ and remember how He warned us that we would suffer as He had at the hands of men. Jesus knew of the deceiver, and that he would come to steal our joy, kill our vision and lie to us concerning our lives. Satan comes to lie, steal, and kill or destroy; but Jesus came that we might have life and life more abundant. Accept Christ today and let that abundance of Spirit take over your life. With the abundance comes righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. How much more can we ask for when we submit to a living God that will take nothing from us but give. He will revive and stimulate us, quickening our mortal bodies to link up together with Christ and be kept by His Spirit. It is He that gives us the victory over death. We don’t have to die no more once we have died to sin and took up Christ our Lord.
Remember if you be ashamed to own Him, He will be ashamed to own you before the Father. Christ is our new life and for us to live is Christ. The day of Christ is at hand and we must patiently wait for Him to rise again with Him. Don’t give up or give in; the Devil meant it for evil, but God meant it for my good.
