World Affairs
In this ever-changing world, the face of evil is becoming most prominent. Today's way of life is far worst than that of yester-year. This new-age generation has made immorality the 'norm.'Bad is good, and good is bad, and anything goes. This is their new standard of living. Homosexuals, lesbians, atheists, satanists, witches, psychics, and various so-called religious organizations are no longer in the background, but are now, boldly, expressing their beliefs. The spirit of lies is let loose upon the earth, thus bringing it into a state of confusion.
Unfortunately, many churches today are caught up in these lies and confusions; they have become men pleasers. Some fail to teach certain scriptures in the Bible fearing they might offend someone. And some have accepted and allowed those who indulge in immoral lifestyles to become members or ministers in the churches--clearly violating the word of God. Evidently, most of these church leaders are not annointed ministers of God, but self-made leaders whose ministries are built upon deceit. And, sadly, many true ministers have fallen and are caught up in this ungodly web. Their churches exude a theatrical atmosphere rather than a spiritual one. And their interest lies in getting as many members as possible for monetary gain and not so much the saving of souls. Consequently, we find that the churches today have many members but few Christians (follower of Christ). And due to the lack of having spiritual sight, they are oblivious to the presence of child molesters and other evil doers among them. Also, it is noted that some ministers have placed a price tag on the word of God. And others are caught in 'power struggel'; they are more concerned about titles rather than living a holy life--proving themselves unworthy of their calling. The spirit of pride has taken a hold on most ministries and has caused them to undermine ministers with poor educational backgrounds. And, this discloses the fact that they fail to see that the called-of-God is not according to man's logic, but according to the will of God.
undoubtly, many highly respected ministers have become hypocrites and an embarrassment to the church of the Most High God; they do not practice what they preach. For example, they present their marital and other problems before worldly judges in a court of law, rather than having them solved through the church ministry, thus making void the words stated in the Bible: "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?" 1Corinthians 6:1. Also, we find that many leaders of the gospel whom God has blessed with riches for his purposes, fail to utilize this blessing in the manner God intended. They, selfishly, buy themselves mansions, living the lap of luxury, storing up treasures in this world while ignoring the cries of the homeless, penniless, and hungry. Surely, the question is asked, "How can a true servant of God enjoy living in luxury when there are so much poverty in the world?" The word of God said, "Feed my Sheep.
Undoubtedly, the practices of the world are being brought into the church. And many Christians think it is imperative that the church change with the times in order to accommodate the younger generation. But contrariwise, the teachings of Christ remain the same even though the world changes. Certain behavioral practices that the world exhibits should not be incorporated in the church. Multiple piercing and tatoos all over the body, revealing too much skin, certain hairdos, style of dressing, kind of music, and thuggish traits are not of God but of the world.
Surely, many have said that our outward appearance doesn't matter, only what's in our hearts when, infact, the Bible teaches that Christians should dress modest. The manner in which believers act and dress today is contrary to the way of God; one can hardly identify Christians from gangsters, thugs, punk rockers, and even prostitutes. Our outward appearance should represent what's on our inside. We know that sinners do come as they are, but once they are truly saved, they should receive that Holy Ghost make over. Their appearance and lifestyle should be reflected as born again Christians, and their worldly way of life should end. The expression 'I'm just being myself' should be replaced by 'I'm being who God called me to be.' For, as born again children of God, we are called to deny ourselve for him, therefore, let us not be conformed to the way of the world, but try to transform the world to the way of the Lord.
