Fiction
Sitting alone in her bedroom, Lavender Logan was writing in her diary. With her shining pink pen with the diva feathers as the top to her sparkling bubble gum pink pen, she wrote her entry for the day. Lavender was a sweet, but pretty girl who is as smart as a whip. But she had a learning disability that she wanted to get rid of so badly. She spend most of her day in her room. She did not want to make friends because no one would understand her.
She wondered why people act like people with disabilities are strange. It was as almost as if people with disabilities have diseases, or they have because they are being punish by God. Lavender sighed, and wish that one day somebody would come and love her for who she is on the inside, not for what was on the outside.
Lavender came out of her room and flew down the stairs, allowing her long, beautiful dark brown hair to flow along with her jogging. She saw her parents in the kitchen. She flew passed them as they smiled.
"Hi, Lavender," said her parents, Violet and Bryon Logan, "where are you off to today?"
Lavender looked at her parents with the smile on her face. For she was not the type that would get into all kinds of trouble.
"Nowhere," she said, "just outside to catch the wind and the sunshine." And she left out the back door.
Violet and Bryan felt really sad for her that Lavender could not find anybody that would love her for her. They wished that they could do something for her, but they didn't know what to do. But they wanted to do something to cheer her up.
So, Violet walked outside with a picture of lemonade with two glasses. Violet knew Lavender loved lemonade, and so Violet sat right next to her on the swing.
"Would you like something to drink?" Violet said.
"Yes, please." Lavender said. Violet poured lemonade into the glass on a very beautiful sunny day.
"What do you want out of life, Lavender?" Violet ask. Violet was just a concerned mother who don't want her daughter to be alone up until the day she died.
"I don't know," Lavender said, "I know I got God in my life."
"Indeed you do." Violet said as she smiled.
"I just want to fall in love with a man who will love me for who I am, and not look at me like I'm a freak."
Suddenly, Lavender spotted a handsome man, Jaden Ramsey walking by. He was the one Lavender liked, but she did not know how to approach him. For she was a shy girl, who did not know how to talk to guys. She was scared that he was going to reject her.
"I know you do," Violet said, "but you never know until you try it."
As Violet got up and walked into the house, Lavender knew that her mother was right; so she got up and walked over to Jaden, and then he smiled at her.
"Hi," he said, "how are you, Lavender?"
"Fine." Lavender responded.
"Would you like to go out on a date, just you and me?"
"I love to." Lavender said with a smile on her face.
"Good, then I'll pick you up around eight o'clock tonight."
"I'll be ready."
