The 5 "What" Questions of Life........ by Obi Felix Abrahams
Questions are very important in Life. Without them, knowledge and wisdom may not have been found among men. The right to ask questions is one of the greatest privileges man has on earth ‘cos inanimate things have no voice to query anything.
Questions help us to know where we are, and where we are headed to in life.
A question will not necessary elicit an answer, but the puzzle generated will task our minds to seek for understanding and to acquire wisdom for daily living.
Questions have revolutionized the world of science. The great scientists of the past at one time or the other had to battle a nudging question whose answer we now celebrate as inventions. In essence, discoveries and inventions were at one time questions whose answers have now been found.
Questions will always be with us!
Great science foundations have inherited fortunes as grants for finding answers to life’s challenges and problems.
Millions of dollars are currently being spent to find this nagging question:
What drug can we use to cure/treat HIV/AIDS?
Without questions, Scientific/ Social research would be in a perpetual limbo. So questions are good. They are gifts from God so that man can seek to know more about the cosmos (universe), the human nature and life on earth, and about God.
In this light, I would wish that you ask yourself these 5 what questions of life:
Q1. What have I done to know more about the truth of the person of God and his principles?
Clue: ... Hear, O Israel: LORD our God is one God: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy might...( Deut 6:4-5)
"Now unto the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be glory & honour for ever & ever, Amen. ( 1Tim 1:7)
Q2 What have I done to advance the kingdom of God today in word and in dead?
...Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord,... (Tim 1:8)
...Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. ( 2 Tim 4:2)
...be thou an example of the believers, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith in purity (1Tim 4:12)
Q3 What have I done to improve the lives, or meet the needs of people around me?
...Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men....(Gal 6:9-10)
...I rejoiced greatly that now your care of me hath flourished again... (Phil 4:10)
......bear ye one another’s burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ (Gal 6:2)
....we then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself.. .(Rom 15:1-3)
Q4. What have I done to develop and harness my God-given talents, gifts and potentials?
....neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophesy...(1 Tim 4:14)
....I therefore so run, not as uncertainly, so fight I, not as one that beateth the air. But I keep my body under............(1Cor 9:26-27)
....Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed....... (2 Tim 2:15)
A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth...him before great men (Prov. 18:16)
....Play skillfully.............(Ps 33:3)
....I was afraid (Lazy) and went and hid your talent in the ground.........(Matt 25:25)
Q5 What is my purpose for seeking and acquiring money/ wealth?
Godliness with contentment is great gain for we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content (1Tim 6:6-8)
....Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. That they do good, that they be rich in good work, ready to distribute, willing to communicate..(Tim 6:17-18)
....And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
And he saw also a certain poor wisdom casting thither two mites. (Lk 21:1-2)
