Poetry
n the flesh I possess not even one good thing.
Always, ever, without You, I amount to nothing.
Fill my mouth with words for him who is weary,
Illumine my mind that I may discern what is bleary.
Refresh my spirit with springs, whose fountains flowing,
Forth from the Spirit’s heart art ever going.
Take not Thy Holy Spirit from me;
Remove whatever in His place may be.
I will not quench Your flow, so freedom-bringing,
Nor despise prophecies, conviction’s stinging.
Remove the heart of stone and make it flesh;
May my will to Yours be molded, meshed.
May my spirit urgently, compelled,
Boldly share what it has seen and heard,
Fullness of the cup dispelled.
Pour into this emptiness
Everything of Thine,
For I have gladly given Thee
Everything once mine.
Open my eyes that I may see
The wonders of Your Word.
May it be my soul’s delight,
With eagerness be heard.
May my utmost fascination
Be to know the riches stored
In Christ, His love the Spirit hath
So generously out-poured.

A lovely discription of the yearnings of my heart. Well done.
