Encouragement
...There is a small sign on my desk; it says "...I AM Relentless." Relentless means "ceaseless and intense." This sign is to remind me that in life, in my Christian walk, in writing, I need to be ceaseless and intense. I must be careful when I say this because I can easily change from ceaseless and intense to ruthless and driven.
I am ceaseless because though I take time to rest and sometimes I need to attend to different things that are just part of life I never give up on doing the will of God. In fact, I believe resting and attending to normal life is part of the will of God for me. People who obsess in serving God to the detriment of their family, health and life do not bring Him glory. The glory of God is man fully alive. We need to be alive in all aspects not just religious ones.
I am intense because I totally believe in what I am doing. My purpose wraps itself around loving God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and loving my neighbor as myself. Avoiding being driven by taking time to listen to God and others who have my best interest in mind is what I remember while listening, learning, trusting and waiting.
I write whether I feel like it or not and whether anyone is listening or not. I write because it is part of me and I believe that what is in me has a purpose in the world and can make the world a better place to live. Deeply feeling what I write and writing intensely from the deepest part of my being is what brings life to me. Eric Liddle the great Olympic runner said that when he ran, he felt God’s pleasure.
I love to run but problems with my feet deny me that pleasure. But I feel the pleasure of God when I write, when my fingers run over the keyboards creating, displaying, encouraging…So daily I write...and write...and write...

"Avoid being driven by taking time to listen." I love how you differentiate "ceaseless and intense from ruthless and driven". I tend to like articles that say what needs to be said in fewer words. Good length, great article. The Lord Bless You.
