Now Taking Your Questions

These lessons, by one of our most consistent FaithWriters' Challenge Champions, should not be missed. So we're making a permanent home for them here.

Now Taking Your Questions

Post by glorybee »

We're leaving tomorrow for a road trip that will take in a visit to family in Florida, the FaithWriters gathering in Georgia, and some touristy-type fun in Kentucky. Nevertheless, I'll be online quite a bit, and although there's no lesson this week (or next), I'd love to answer any questions you might have. So...what would you like to know about...

any specific writing terms you've encountered

grammar, spelling, punctuation

the Writing Challenge

developing writing skills

the art of writing

my adorable granddaughters

The more specific your question is, the more likely it is that I'll be able to give you a good answer, especially if you can provide brief examples for me to read.

I hope I'll see you in Georgia--if that's not possible, I hope to be reading your work here soon!

How high is up?

I am in a cheeky mood (only an hour or so until we leave to pick Mum up for the airport).

See you soon!

It's twice as high as down, silly.

Could God make a stone so big that he couldn't lift it?
God has blessed us with a grownup family of four and three grandchildren, so life is full. My weekly newspaper columns seek to encourage unchurched people to explore God's love, so they may discover the difference he can make for them - and through them.

You and Deb both need to work on your reading skills--your questions aren't on my list. I'll answer it, though: No, he can't.

In what way are your grandchildren (each one separately) most like you (personality-wise)? Unlike you?

What an interesting question! And not an easy one to answer.

Piper, who is not quite 7, has a very different personality from me. She's outgoing, active, busy. But we share several interests: she loves theater, reading, and playing games.

Katelyn is almost 4, but her life has been full of complications from Day 1. She's adopted, and her birth mother used far too many illegal substances throughout her pregnancy and right up to the time of Katelyn's birth. As a result, Katelyn has many developmental delays--and of course, she has nothing genetic from me. She's been raised by my wonderful daughter, though, and has learned from her to be sweet, loving, and joyful. None of those are adjectives that I'd apply to myself, but perhaps my daughter got a tiny bit of that from me. The rest is all grace.

Disclaimer: any typos are due to fat fingered typing on my phone; we're in the car, less that an hour from little Kate!
