This week's Weekly Writing Ariticle focuses on something I know I've struggled with many times - keeping it all in perspective. The following paragraph, taken from Glenn's article, sums it up perfectly:
We need to select times when we will not focus on our writing. We will not try to mesh, manufacture or manhandle an event and craft it into an article. You see, sometimes writers lose themselves in their writing and forget that sometimes life is simply meant to be enjoyed.
For me, this week's article smacked me in the gut - in a good way. It helped me remember that my life is not all about my writing (gasp!). Yes, it is a big part of who I am, but it should never be at the expense of my family or simply experiencing life.
