Simple Past or Present Perfect (Milly)

Post by Anja »

Milly asked--

1. Verbs--as an ESL speaker I don't "feel" the difference between the past and the present perfect. I need a simple, easy to remember, rule--if such a thing exists.

I am going to direct you to a website that is actually ESL. It explains it very well (and quicker) than I could.

There are specific "signal words" that help us "feel" the "time element" of an action, whether the action happened at a specific time in the past (Simple Past) or happened recently / already / not yet (Present Perfect.)

Simple Past vs. Present Perfect

There are some quizzes that may be beneficial, too. Let me know if it helped.
