Just a question ...

Post by Joolz »

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this, but would parables [as used for teaching truths] be considered non-fiction or fiction? What about visions?

I've got this concept in mind for a book but not sure where it fits - it's kind of autobiographical (which is non-fiction) but with other elements in it, not sure?

I tried writing it for last year's contest as a fictional story, but it just didn't work.

any thoughts?

Hi Julie.

Sounds like it could be a bit of both, but if it is somewhat autobiographical, then I'd go with non-fiction. Give it a go anyway.

Thanks Deb.

I guess there's no harm in trying. I'll probably write it anyway just as a personal project, so might as well enter the contest, eh?

As a fictional piece it was going in the wrong direction but it just might work as non-fiction as that will be a different perspective.
